The Major Gifts Officer (MGO) is an essential member of a dynamic team that provides critical financial support for Arkansas PBS, Arkansas’s only statewide media network.The MGO is a staff member of the Arkansas PBS Foundation, the nonprofit fundraising arm of the Arkansas PBS Network.The MGO is responsible for the full range of activities required to research, cultivate, solicit, steward, manage and expand a portfolio of Arkansas PBS’s most generous and engaged donors – representing both membership revenue and restricted project support, as well as planned giving. This includes oversight over the Foundation’s Ambassadors Circle level of giving and Legacy Society donors who have committed to planned gifts. This position reports to the Arkansas PBS Foundation CEO and works collaboratively with other members of the Foundation and Network staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required for the cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and management of major donors for Arkansas PBS Foundation/Arkansas PBS, including but not limited to:
- Work closely with Foundation CEO to develop strategies to meet financial goals.
- Maintain accurate records and files, including receipt of gifts, donor communications and stewardship notes, in Foundation donor database.
- Cultivate and solicit new gifts and renewals, with a focus on growth over time based on excellent donor relations and stewardship.
- Collaborate with Director of Membership to create and manage a calendar of renewal, challenge, and additional gift requests.
- Create, manage and implement calendar of strategic stewardship communications and activities.
- Identify, cultivate and solicit planned giving prospects.
- Create and manage a calendar of planned giving communications.
- Evaluate the efficacy of funding efforts (ROI) by tracking and monitoring time spent, solicitations, and responses.
- Research successful fundraising trends and adapt Foundation processes and practices for continuous improvement.
- Ensure tracking of gifts and compliance with all acknowledgment, recognition and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop/refresh promotional collaterals, including print, digital and on-air promo spots.
- Represent Foundation publicly at events as assigned by CEO.
- Assist with company newsletters, member magazine, brochures and other materials as requested.
- Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and Foundation matters.
- Other duties as assigned.

Machines, equipment or software used regularly in this position
- Computer with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Basic Office Equipment – copier, scanner, phone
- Proficiency with Canva is a plus
- Database experience strongly preferred
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience (minimum)
- Proven history of individual donor relations strongly preferred
- Experience working with donor databases strongly preferred
Occasional evenings and weekends required, as well as occasional travel. An Arkansas driver's license is required.
