Position Description:
Looking for an energetic professional to become Lionheart Life Center’s development officer who will adopt and embody our mission to provide individuals with autism and other neurodevelopmental challenges a comprehensive range of educational, therapeutic, and vocational services to maximize the potential for their highest level of independence.
The Development Officer generates resources that allow Lionheart Life Center to fulfill its mission and provide services through The Lionheart School, Lionheart WORKS, and Summer Camp. Based in Alpharetta, GA, the Development Officer will create and implement strategies to raise annual gifts in the $1,500 - $15,000+ gift range, building deeper engagement with our established donor base while developing new community and personal relationships. This position will report to the Lionheart Life Center Executive Director.
Top Five Responsibilities:
- Lead all strategies and execution to meet and exceed Lionheart Life Center’s fundraising goals
- Manage a portfolio of 100 -150 donors and prospects focused on the $1,500 - $15,000+ gift range - including the individual, grants, and corporate donors
- Manage local leadership connections while creating and implementing leadership-giving strategies
- Coordinate Lionheart Life Center community and civic engagement opportunities
- Oversee special giving campaigns as required
Detailed Functions, Responsibilities & Skills:
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit leadership annual gift prospects
- Manage a portfolio of donors with an expectation of scheduling 15-20 meetings per month
- Implement administrative needs for relationship management, including tracking and recording all donor prospect interaction activity
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop effective strategies to solicit and steward leadership annual gifts
- Implement programs to renew, retain, and grow leadership annual gifts
- Cultivate relationships with local businesses and organizations to create employment and volunteer opportunities for WORKS participants
- Update and keep accurate donor records as needed
- Assist and prepare donor proposals
- Send gift acknowledgments and thank you notes to donors as assigned
- Develop gift progress reports for the Executive team and Board of Directors
- Identify and collaborate with the Marketing team on monthly Partner and Donors available to feature their stories/testimonials in our social media and newsletters
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on monthly Corporate Partner and Lifespan Giving Circle e-newsletters/updates
- Develop monthly engagement plans for various community and civic organizations
- Serve as Lionheart’s representative throughout the community and designated events
- Provide support and assistance to enhance DonorPerfect content for accuracy and detail
- Create and execute various special giving campaigns as needed
- Collaborate with leadership to develop annual giving priorities and the associated collateral as needed
- Maintain a passion for fundraising and relationship-building
- Exhibit knowledge and proficiency of relevant fundraising principles and practices
- Maintain a flexible work schedule, including a willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed\
- Exhibit a creative approach to relationship development, showcasing initiative and problem-solving skills
- Exude self-motivation and the ability to work independently to achieve set goals
- Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong attention to detail
- Showcase impeccable customer service with the ability to positively engage with a variety of audiences
