    Description

    The Organization:

    Blake Boultbee Youth Outreach Service (BBYOS) began in 1989, providing intensive therapeutic support and comprehensive community-based social services to young people and families in and around the Blake Street Toronto Housing neighbourhood, and now serves the population of the City of Toronto and beyond. Our target clientele is between 12-25 years of age. Our service has a strong focus on mental health issues and concerns, addressing violence in community and relationships, anti-social and criminal behaviour.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

      • Provide in-person and virtual counseling/therapy and case management to at-risk young people (12-25 yrs), and other members of the community.
      • Respond to the immediate needs of youth and develop strategies related to education, employment, substance use, and criminal involvement.
      • Be involved in direct community outreach.
      • Create and maintain peer support groups with at-risk young people.
      • Develop and deliver treatment and/or service plans in conjunction with your client, and at times including other family members.
      • Establish and maintain strong community partnerships with local child and youth services, community agencies, and area schools.
      • Experience in working with youth who have challenges relating to mental health, addictions, trauma, relationship violence, human trafficking, criminal activity, and other activities and incidents that further increase their risks in life.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of an undergraduate degree with related training, and at least three years of counseling experience with young people.
    • Ability to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions.
    • Approachable and demonstrated ability to form relationships, communicate, and collaborate optimally across all functions and levels.
    • Exceptional communication skills across various conveyances and forums (oral, written, presentations, etc.).
    • A high degree of judgment and discretion, adaptability, strong problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work cooperatively and negotiate effectively within a team of co-workers.

    Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year

    Benefits: Full Extended Health package, including RRSP matching

    Schedule:

    Monday to Friday

    No weekends
