About the Position
As CCMF’s Fundraising Associate (FC), you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of fundraising activities. About 50% of your activity would be focused on CCMF Alberta with additional responsibilities in Western Canada and Nationally. You will have primary responsibility for securing sufficient funds to realize CCMF’s goals and objectives. The position will work closely with the Executive Director of CCMF Alberta and Local Advisory Boards in Western Canada, The National Fund Development Manager and the CEO of CCMF. The successful candidate is preferably based in Alberta.
Tasks and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for securing funds to support key objectives and programs for CCMF.
Responsible for contributing to the growth of the organization’s fundraising mix, including private contributions from individual donors, membership dues, government and foundations grants and corporate sponsorships.
Participate in the Fundraising and Advancement Committee and manage a team of volunteers focused on raising funds for CCMF.
Working closely with National staff and the Branch Directors as assigned in developing key relationships in funding agencies and government.
Responsible for donor relations and stewardship, including donor circles, donor reports, communications and appreciation events. Work closely with the communications team to develop communications and schedules and assist in creating a National communications strategy.
Lead teams of volunteers and staff to create events that support the visibility of CCMF in the community and our fundraising objectives.
Assist in arranging and delivering speaking opportunities to key groups, service clubs, foundations, individuals and organizations to advance the public knowledge of men’s issues and support our advocacy and fund development activity.
Maintain a comprehensive schedule of grant opportunities, deadlines, follow-up activities and reporting requirements for grants received in the assigned branches.
Prepare detailed grant applications in collaboration with the Branch Directors and other key program staff.
Lead the development of a Corporate Sponsorship program.
Ensure that philanthropy and fund development are carried out in keeping with the organization’s values, mission, vision and plans, and in compliance with the organization’s Statement of Ethics and the Donor Bill of Rights.
Assist in reviewing performance measures, monitoring results and assist the Manager of Fund Development, the chief executive officer, development committee and boards evaluate the effectiveness of the organization’s fund development program.
Support the creation of solicitation strategies, and compiling information to create individual solicitation plans for major gift donors and prospects.
Stay abreast of sector trends and bring new ideas and opportunities forward to support goal of building long-term donor relationships
Grant Writing
Prepare and submit grant applications, letters of intent and solicitation letters for government, foundations and corporate grants.
Manage the fulfillment of grant reporting obligations. Support and develop fulfillment systems.
Maintain and build relationships with grantors and sponsors.
Manage and grow a comprehensive database of grant and sponsorship opportunities.
Research grant and sponsorship opportunities that meet the unique needs of the organization.
Write compelling and well-articulated proposals, letters of interest and applications; submit and manage grants.
Fundraising Responsibilities
In addition to Grants the major responsibilities will include donor stewardship and developing a corporate giving program and stewardship.
Coordinate with all CCMF branches to ensure full branch participation in fundraising activities.
Responsibility to recruit, train and manage volunteers involved in the two areas of grant writing and special events.
Ensure that philanthropy and fund development are carried out in keeping with the organization’s Values, Vision, Mission, Strategic and Tactical Plans, and in compliance with the organization’s Statement of Ethics and the Donor Bill of Rights.
Empowers the Board of Directors, Executive Director, staff and volunteers with tools and training to fully engage the entire team in fundraising.
Develop fundraising communication materials for various audiences.
Develop communication messages and materials in support of Annual Giving and donor stewardship initiatives, including strategizing concepts, identifying key themes, target audiences and delivery channels, culminating in well-managed production.
Help establish performance measures, monitors results and helps evaluate the effectiveness of the organization’s fund development program.
Develop data management system to track all sources of financial support to CCMF
