Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for strategic leadership, central coordination, creative oversight and integrated execution of alumni and community engagement, advancement communications and marketing.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
▪ Knowledge of management practices in people management, strategic planning and risk management, policy development, financial management and stakeholder relationship management
▪ Knowledge and experience in alumni and community engagement
▪ Knowledge of marketing and communications, including digital and social media environment and strategies
▪ Knowledge of trends and opportunities in the charitable and philanthropic sector
▪ Understanding of issues and trends at Carleton and in the higher education sector related to alumni and community engagement
▪ Contemporary best practices in Advancement Strategy, programs, service delivery models and enabling technologies
▪ Knowledge of the legislative and ethical frameworks governing Advancement
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or other relevant field
▪ Minimum of eight years of previous experience in progressive leadership roles
