About Us
CircusWest Performing Arts Society is Vancouver’s home for circus arts. It is a full-scale training and performance centre for all ages, housed in the historic Garden Auditorium at Hastings Park in East Vancouver. The programming spans aerials, acrobatics, trampoline, trapeze, juggling, unicycle, and more. CirKids brings hundreds of children aged 3 to 17 through a 10-month program each year. Adults and teens participate in sessional programs and self-guided training throughout. Camps, workshops, and community performances extend the reach further still.
CircusWest is a community where people come to push their limits in an environment built on community, excellence, teamwork, and respect. The mission has stayed constant since its humble beginnings in 1984: develop skills, build confidence, and inspire passion through circus training and performance.
CircusWest is a registered charity governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. It is supported by more than 400 community members and has sent graduates to national and international circus programs, including Canada’s École Nationale de Cirque. The organization’s ambition is to be the recognized leader in circus arts in Western Canada - and the foundation to get there is already in place.
