The Assistant Grant Manager is an important member of the Grant Management Team and will assist grant applicants to enter grant requests into our grant management system.

Key Responsibilities:

Respond to inquiries regarding MPTF grant rules and application process
Verify that grant requests comply with relevant local union scales, and process the grants under the supervision of the Director of Grant Management, and others on the grant management team
Assist with the mailing and distribution of grant payments to recipients
Uphold the rules and policies of the MPTF grant process
Maintain positive relationships with grant applicants and events partners
Assist with our database development

Candidate requirements:

The incumbent candidate will quickly become familiar with MPTF grant rules and policies
Positive communication skills and demeanor when assisting applicants and partners regarding the MPTF grant process via telephone and email
Good writing skills to communicate rules, policies, and details in the grant making process
Quickly gain required proficiency in administering grant details in the MPTF grant management system
Be flexible and adaptable to evolving tasks, priorities, and shared responsibilities in a small office

Qualifications:

College degree or Strong work experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
