About Amplify Georgia Collaborative

We are a collaborative of reproductive justice organizations and allies strategizing and implementing collective, bold, abortion-out-loud campaigns grounded in reproductive justice and rooted in the South.

We organize to protect and expand abortion access in Georgia by identifying local and state-level opportunities for policy advocacy, culture shift work, education, and base mobilization. The Amplify Georgia Collaborative envisions a state where ALL people can make decisions around their bodies, their families, and their communities, free from stigma, shame, and violence.

The Amplify Georgia Collaborative is fiscally sponsored by NEO Philanthropy, with an annual budget of approximately $1 million and six full-time staff members.

Leadership Approach

In 2024, Amplify underwent an organizational transformation process to distribute leadership more equitably across our team. This process came about because Amplify believes that in adopting a more distributed leadership approach, we can better live into our values of:

Collaboration: Amplify staff already engage largely in collaborative decision making. This process has allowed staff to clarify and formalize these practices.
Sustainability: Traditional Executive Director positions hold a lot of work with limited support. This contributes to burnout. A distributive leadership approach removes this burden of sole decision maker from the ED and creates opportunities for deeper collaboration with staff.
Leadership from the most impacted: Nonprofit leadership is historically white and there can be limited opportunities for BIPOC to take on leadership responsibilities. A distributive leadership approach disrupts this historic dynamic and builds the capacity of all staff to lead within the organization. Distributive leadership in practice at Amplify includes peer management, staff teams that provide budget oversight, fundraising and safety and security planning, and decision making frameworks that empower those closest to the work to make decisions about that work.

Roles and Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership and Strategy

Ensure Amplify Georgia’s mission, vision, and values are reflected in all programming and operations.
Build and maintain a positive organizational culture, grounded in Amplify’s values and commitment to distributed leadership.
Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of Amplify’s strategic plan. Ensure the strategic priorities are translated into annual work plans in support of achieving operational and programmatic goals.
Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with and between staff, partners, allies, and the community.
Ensure coordination and alignment among campaign strategies, teams, and partners. This includes establishing clear roles and responsibilities between staff, partners, advisors, allies, and base members, as well as developing accountability systems for delivering on commitments.
Serve as a thought partner for staff, partner organizations, and allies, working together to engage in visioning and goal setting related to collaborative campaign work.
Build knowledge and expertise about relevant local, state, and national reproductive health, rights, and justice issues.
Develop and implement systems for identifying, tracking, monitoring and reporting on key metrics, progress towards goals, and effectiveness of strategies.
Convene and facilitate Amplify's Advisory Board meetings on a quarterly basis. Prepare and present reports on campaign progress and achievements for donors, campaign leadership, and the campaign Advisory Board.

People Operations

Working closely with the fiscal sponsor, serve as the primary point person for all personnel processes (including hiring and terminations, implementing personnel policies, developing and maintaining HR systems and processes, and evaluating and providing resources for employee benefits, and related tasks).
Lead Amplify's peer management system, equipping managers with the skills and resources they need to manage their teams. This includes supporting managers to conduct annual reviews, to navigate performance issues, and to make compensation determinations.
Support the team’s professional development through mentorship, coaching, identifying internal and external support resources, and opportunities for growth.
Build a sense of teamwork and ownership, empowering staff through active communication and delegation.
Work with staff to engage in productive problem solving and conflict resolution.
Manage outside vendors and consultants as needed.

Fundraising and Finance

Serve as the lead fundraiser for the Collaborative, developing goals and strategies, developing funding applications and proposals, issuing grant reports and other deliverables, and cultivating relationships with current and potential funders.
Oversee grantmaking and stipends to partner organizations, including managing the grantmaking timelines, providing guidance on the proposal and reporting process, reviewing and approving proposals and reports, and providing needed support to grantees.
Works with Amplify’s fiscal sponsor on financial management for the organization. Responsible for financial scenario planning and preparing and submitting the annual budget to Amplify’s Advisory Board and fiscal sponsor.
Responsible for organizational grant management and compliance.
Approve Amplify purchases and spending. Review and approve monthly organizational expense reports.
Collaborate with Amplify’s fiscal sponsor to ensure smooth execution of contracts, including the delivery of agreed upon deliverables within the timeline and budget.

Communications and Technology

Collaborate with the Communications Lead to manage the organization's external communications strategy, branding, and marketing. Review and approve external-facing communications and materials, including press advisories and releases, and op-eds.
Act as the primary spokesperson representing Amplify in external meetings and events, coalition tables, and other external spaces.
Maintain, improve, and/or develop new internal systems and structures to ensure strong communication, coordination, and information sharing across campaigns.
Ensure Amplify has the technology needed for current organizational operations and programming as well as future growth.
Work with the safety and security team to plan and implement digital security plans and respond during crises.

Requirements

Qualifications:

A personal passion and commitment to principles of reproductive justice, abortion access, and a commitment to Amplify’s vision and values.
A minimum of 5 years of management experience, with a clear track record in managing teams and campaigns.
Resident of the state of Georgia or willing to relocate to the state.
Ability to work in a remote-first environment using Google Suite
Strong preference for candidates with experience living and/or working in the Southern United States.
Strong preference for candidates with a connection to reproductive health, rights, and/or justice; gender justice; and/or racial justice movements.

Desired Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong management skills and experience and a demonstrated ability to build, motivate, mentor, and supervise a team.
Demonstrated expertise in crafting strategies that integrate policy priorities, public engagement, and organizational goals.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and listening skills, with the passion and presence to articulate a vision and serve as Amplify Georgia’s primary spokesperson.
Financial management and fundraising experience, including budgeting and grants management.
Skills in creating and operationalizing strategic plans.
Ability to create and sustain collaborative partnerships.
Ability to implement principles of racial justice and gender justice.
Understanding of the cultural and political environments in Georgia and the Southern United States.
Preference for candidates who have experience with and commitment to distributed leadership models.

Compensation and Work Environment

Position Type: Exempt, Full-time (40+ hours per week).
Location: The Executive Director must live in or be willing to relocate to Georgia.
Workplace Type: Remote-first.
Travel Requirement: Occasional domestic travel, and periodic in-person meetings in Atlanta.
Annual Salary: $110,00 - $120,000

Our fixed salary range for this position is $110,00 - $120,000. The top of the range indicates a candidate who has performed a comparable role for 3-5 years and can carry out most of these duties with minimal supervision.

This position offers a full benefits package, including 100% medical coverage for the employee and 90% medical coverage for dependents; 100% coverage for vision, dental, life/AD&D, and long-term disability. We also offer a 401K retirement savings plan, Healthcare Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), Medical FSA, Dependent Care FSA, commuter benefits, Employee Assistance Program, other supplemental benefits, and paid time off plus holiday office closures.

Vaccine Requirement

The Amplify Georgia Collaborative is a fiscally sponsored project by NEO Philanthropy, a 501(c)(3) public charity that operates grantmaking, technical assistance, and strategic planning programs for institutional and individual donors interested in civic engagement, social justice, and human rights issues. NEO follows CDC guidance regarding staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters. Accordingly, and to ensure the wellness and safety of our staff to the greatest extent possible, NEO requires the COVID-19 vaccination and boosters for all staff. Requests for medical and/or religious exemptions from the vaccination requirement will be considered on an individual basis.

Location and Remote Work

The Amplify team is based in Atlanta but we mostly work remotely from our homes/ individual workspaces, with semi-regular in-person events and meetings. (Each employee has access to funding for a work laptop and also office furniture, equipment, and supplies, as needed.) The person in this role will work remotely, but must be based in the state of Georgia. Candidates not currently living in Georgia must be willing to relocate. Amplify Georgia will provide a relocation stipend of up to $1000 to ease the transition of relocation for a selected candidate needing to relocate.
