Responsibilities:1. Assist the alumni team in planning and implementing an annual calendar of programs and activities which develop strong institutional affiliation with Carroll University alumni. This includes, but is not limited to, Homecoming, Reunion & Family Weekend, young alumni events, service programs, on-campus and local events, regional events, and alumni/student-related events.
2. Coordinate, manage, and execute service programs to involve alumni and other constituents. This includes, but is not limited to, Pioneers Serve: Carroll University Month of Service & Food Drive, in collaboration with the Alumni Council and Student Life.
3. Assist the Executive Director of Alumni Engagement in supporting the Alumni Council, including attending meetings and serving as the lead staff resource for two standing committees: Young Alumni and Student Engagement, and other provisional committees as needed.
4. Serve as the lead for Young Alumni Class Reunions (5th and 10th) during Homecoming, Reunion & Family Weekend, including collaborating with development colleagues for support of reunion class gift goals.
5. Develop and implement comprehensive, creative email marketing strategies to increase alumni engagement. This includes creating email campaigns to market events and programs. Collaborate with the Marketing team to align communications with social media efforts and the alumni newsletter.
6. Develop and execute plans and activities for alumni affinity groups (academic, special interest, athletic, alumni employees, young alumni (last 10 years), professional affiliation, etc.) and develop strategies to support the events and activities.
7. Manage a robust Student Alumni Ambassador program to include the recruitment and selection process, student engagement, and communication, in collaboration with the Alumni Council Student Engagement Committee.
8. Create, with the Executive Director of Alumni Engagement, an annual strategic operating plan which includes established measurable goals, a calendar of events, communication and messaging plan to alumni and an anticipated budget.
9. Assist the alumni team in building events as needed in Raiser's Edge, the primary platform for Institutional Advancement and processing event registrations on a daily basis. Also assist the alumni team with answering alumni office phone calls.
10. Attend and assist in the facilitation of alumni events as needed. Nights and weekends will be required. Travel as needed and provide appropriate support to associated programs and events.
11. Assist the Executive Director of Alumni Engagement and other Advancement staff with activities as they specifically relate to the cultivation and stewardship of alumni.
12. Work collaboratively with the annual giving team and other development staff to promote a team environment, and to ensure the overall success of the development program.
13. Perform other duties as requested, delegated, or assigned.
Qualifications:Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Three to five years of related experience in a similar position for a non-profit organization, preferably in higher education.
- Event planning experience required.
- Strong written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills required.
- Availability for frequent evening and weekend work required.
- Preference will be given to experience in creating and developing thoughtful alumni programs and activities, marketing background, and experience in coordinating volunteers.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience in Blackbaud programs such as Raiser's Edge and Net Community are a plus.

- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and an aptitude for working with people of different ages and temperaments.
- Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background or job type.
- Building meaningful relationships with constituents to build strong alumni engagement and support is critical to this role.
- Requires the ability to analyze situations and implement appropriate actions and responses.
- Strong writing skills in order to develop professional reports, strategic plans and correspondence are necessary.
- High energy level, self-motivated, and self-directed to design and complete complex projects.
- Must also have the skills and desire to: multi-task and meet deadlines; be a team player; work collaboratively; maintain strong organizational skills; understand the principles and techniques relevant to fundraising; participation in evening and weekend activities are necessary.
