Job Summary:
The Director for the College of Pharmacy Alumni & Development Office is responsible for pharmacy alumni relations and College of Pharmacy advancement. Acts as a resource for the College of Pharmacy and builds effective, strong working relationships to enhance department operations and functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support services to the department in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors
- Build relationships and develop rapport with alumni, donors, and friends of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy.
- Promote SWOSU and the College of Pharmacy with alumni, friends, and the public.
- Identify potential donors and work closely with the SWOSU University Foundation to secure donations and gifts for fundraising initiatives.
- Provide regular communications concerning alumni development and fundraising.
- Oversee the Southwestern Pharmacy Alumni Foundation website and social media applications.
- Work with the Pharmacy Alumni Foundation Board of Directors, auditors, Foundation Financial Administrator, and Dean of the College of Pharmacy for alumni and College advancement.
- Develop and administer alumni activities including homecoming events, Pharmacy Alumni Association Council meetings, alumni events, alumni membership drives, and alumni gatherings.
- Develop strategies and approaches for fundraising such as annual campaigns, identification of prospective donors, visits with alumni, attendance at pharmacy professional meetings and conferences, and enhancing the public awareness of the College of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Alumni Foundation, and SWOSU.
- Specific assignments are based on unit need and assigned by the supervisor which could include such things as creating digital and print promotional, marketing, and news materials, supporting the College of Pharmacy students, faculty, and staff with events and activities and maintain and update alumni, friends, donors, and pharmacist databases.

Education and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Excellent verbal communication skills and clear and effective written communication ability using both electronic and print media
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong people and networking skills and the ability to interact effectively with alumni, College of Pharmacy and SWOSU personnel, and the public
- Able to travel with the possibility of working occasional evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
- Marketing, management, fund raising, and/or advancement
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the President of SWOSU or their designee may find appropriate
