Position Summary:
In collaboration with the Executive Director of Development and university leadership, the Leadership Gift Officer will have a leadership role in overseeing the high-level giving and fundraising efforts in support of student success and university initiatives.
The position is responsible for helping Oregon Tech reach fundraising goals by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and stewarding gifts of $10,000 and above. The Leadership Gift Officer will work to design and develop solicitation strategies, identify gift opportunities that match donor interests, and continually steward major gift donors. Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, the Leadership Gift officer will collaborate closely with the Dean Online and Global Engagement, Vice President of Student Affairs, Athletics Director, the Vice President for University Advancement, and the Foundation Board of Directors to create and promote development and fundraising endeavors for university-wide scholarships, cross-disciplinary student success programs, athletics, and initiatives in alignment with the strategic plan. This position will drive best practices in student success fundraising, articulate the value of supporting these programs, and drive revenue growth by broadening the donor base.
The primary work location is negotiable between Klamath Falls and the Portland-Metro campus in Wilsonville, Oregon.
Additional Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge and/or relative experience in fundraising techniques, particularly major gift fundraising
- Demonstrated computer proficiency, including experience using Microsoft Office, and CRM
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to establish positive relationships with stakeholders in-person, by phone, email, and written correspondence.
- Ability and desire to work with a diverse group of individuals.

Preferred Requirements:
- Five (5) years' experience in professional fundraising
- Understanding of the polytechnic programs and student success initiatives at Oregon Tech
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to make strong decisions that are organization-focused, strategic and have a positive impact.
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with necessary stakeholders, both internal and external to the organization at every level
- Self-motivated and require little guidance to tackle projects, tasks, and priorities.
- Be organized and exhibit follow through on tasks and goals.
- Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening skills.
- Ability to deploy discretion related to confidential information.
- Demonstrate reliable, regular and predictable work attendance
