Job Title: Director of Advancement Services

Reports To: Vice President for College Advancement
Supervises: Advancement Services Coordinator; Gift Processor
Overview: This position manages the use and implementation of the College's administrative software application across all areas of College Advancement. The director oversees and maintains the integrity of the information entered into the system, manages requests for information and customized reporting, and supervises gift entry operations.
Primary Duties:
Serves as College Advancement's expert on the data system, and plans, implements, and oversees changes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data. Stays updated through internal and external training and user group opportunities to evaluate new ways to use data to enhance advancement operations.
Develops, maintains, and coordinates reports, working in cooperation with College colleagues to manage Advancement data. Documents processes and cross-trains with appropriate staff members.
Serves as primary department resource for data system use. Provides assistance and training to others in the department and answer questions as needed. Seeks additional ways to enhance or improve the usage of the system to create a positive impact on projects and workloads.
Represent the department on cross-campus data stewardship and integrity groups to develop and implement departmental and campus-wide business practices. Serve as the department liaison to ITS.
Oversees and manages gift entry operations, including direct supervision of the Gift Processor. Creates and manages processes to ensure accurate and efficient data entry and cross-training of staff members. Works closely with the Business Office on audit and compliance. Maintains up-to-date knowledge on IRS and college policies.
Provides feedback to direct reports both formally and informally to ensure high quality work outcomes that support the overall goals of the department.
Oversees filing systems and record retention of advancement-related data to comply with College and legal requirements.
Manages the budget assigned to this area, ensuring that expenditures are within allotted levels.
Helps staff events, which include Homecoming and Family Weekend, Senior Sendoff, Last Lecture, and other events where staff are needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Skills & Experience:
- 3 or more years of demonstrated experience working with a CRM data system; experience in the not-for-profit sector, particularly in higher education, is preferred.
- Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Excel and Google Suite
- Ability to question data and anticipate needs of colleagues by turning data into relevant information for decision making
- Ability to work with a diverse campus community
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
Education: Bachelor's degree
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines and filing cabinets.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds on a frequent basis. Also required is the ability to listen, hear, speak, read, write, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand and sit for intermittently long periods of time. Must be able to use a computer to accomplish a variety of job tasks.
Expected hours of work:
40 hours a week. Additional evening and weekend work will be required during department and college events involving donors or prospective donors. Hybrid-remote work for 1 - 2 days per week may be available per College policy.

Pay and Benefits:
This position is budgeted to pay between $55,000 - $60,000 per year.
