Assistant Director of Annual Giving & Stewardship, School of LawAbout the OpportunityReporting to the Director of Development and Alumni/ae Relations, the Assistant Director of Northeastern Law Annual Giving will conceptualize and manage Northeastern University School of Law's (NUSL) annual giving communications, such as writing appeals, including direct mail and email, donor profiles, and stewardship as well as coordination of NUSL's Giving Day initiatives and supporting NUSL's Reunion Giving program. The Assistant Director will help build a stronger culture of philanthropy, increasing the number of donors who give annually, expanding the annual and leadership giving constituent base, and strengthening the pipeline to major gifts and planned gifts. This position requires a dynamic team-player with strong writing, communication and project management skills, and a passion for engaging diverse constituencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Knowledge and skills are typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in fundraising, project management or program management or fundraising, preferably at an institution of higher education
- A proven track record managing volunteers, successfully soliciting annual gifts and daily management of fundraising initiatives.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages that effectively convey the mission and priorities of the School of Law to diverse audiences.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and a proven ability to work with a diverse group of students, staff, and faculty
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Annual Giving 40%- Work closely with the NUSL's Development and Alumni/ae Relations team to develop a robust annual giving marketing plan to encourage annual and leadership gifts from NUSL graduate.
- Deliver effective annual giving strategies that complement the overall vision and fundraising strategic plan for the law school, particularly around specific funding priorities, mission-driven programs, and special development events.
- Seek information about programs, students and donors to develop compelling stories that can be leveraged to increase giving.
- Oversee and conduct personal outreach to unmanaged leadership LYBUNTs and SYBUNTs to ensure continued support.
2. Stewardship 20%- Manage the stewardship letter process, providing meaningful stewardship to donors focused on demonstrating the impact of philanthropy.
3. Reunion 20%- Assist with Reunion fundraising to increase annual and leadership giving from the classes celebrating Reunion, recruit and manage volunteers and directly oversee giving initiatives for the 5th, 10th, and 15th year Reunion classes.
4. Database Management 10%- Utilize Advancement data management system to log activity, create call reports, track annual giving progress, and maintain data integrity of prospects.
5. Giving Day 10%- Develop and execute the strategy for Giving Day, that builds awareness, engages the NUSL community and activates leadership and participation from the Alumni/ae Advisory to increase annual and leadership giving from across NUSL constituencies including alumni, parents, students, and faculty and staff.
