The position conducts comprehensive due diligence research on potential and existing donors, analyzing reputational, financial, and legal factors for individuals, corporations, and foundations. The Assistant Director prepares and presents due diligence reports for leadership, and tracks and codes relevant information on process and outcomes. The Assistant Director, Philanthropic Due Diligence also collaborates with the Director of Prospect Research on process improvements, staff training, and audits.
Additionally, the Assistant Director, Philanthropic Due Diligence conducts high-level prospect research, providing wealth analysis and reports to assess the potential of major philanthropic contributions, particularly at the $1M+ level.

Job QualificationsEducation and Experience- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a related field such as advancement research, development, and/or fundraising.
Required Qualifications- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Superior interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with varied constituencies in a professional and diplomatic manner
- Fluency in sourcing and interpreting data from complex sources, including legal databases and court records; Ability to use critical judgment to assess potential risks
- Fluency in communicating highly sensitive and confidential information with tact and discretion.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, exhibiting good listening skills, responsiveness and reciprocity that contribute to the overall success of the department and division.
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills; able to manipulate, analyze and synthesize data and present findings that are clear and actionable to a variety of Advancement professionals
Preferred Qualifications- Fluency in APRA's Body of Knowledge Prospect Research competencies, and with prior philanthropic due diligence research experience.
- International and high net-worth research experience is highly desired.
