Job SummaryAs part of the Deployment team, the Deployment Specialist is responsible for providing IT Service
Management support, which includes coordinating updates to IT infrastructure and applications. The
Deployment Specialist reviews AITS production change requests, helps with IT release management, assists
in the coordination of upgrades and maintenance of administrative systems, troubleshoots unplanned
outages, and assists with batch processing requests.

Duties & Responsibilities- Build and execute detailed rollout plans that include detailed timetable of events, tasks,
responsibilities, and back-out plans. - Communicate with customers and support staff the rollout plans, impact and testing needs.
- Coordinate functional, operational, performance, and integration testing for all production changes.
- Function as subject matter expert (SME) for the Change and Release Management processes.
- Promote understanding of and adherence to change procedures and counsel IT staff regarding
change management and change requests. - Build an understanding of the overall infrastructure and technologies used by enterprise applications
at the university. - Facilitate the day-to-day operational execution of the Change Management process (e.g. Change
logging, prioritizing, scheduling, monitoring). - Execute scripts and procedures in test environments and verify results with clients and requestors
for sign-off. - Execute scripts in production environments in support of the change management process.
- Migrate batch, web, and infrastructure components into production environments following AITS
standards and procedures. - Provide front line support for production processing, including monitoring, troubleshooting and
migrations. - Provide on-call rotational support for 24/7 departmental/enterprise administrative IT systems. The
position requires a high level of service, and when on call, the individual must be reachable and able
to respond to issues/problems within published service response times (either from the employee's
office location or remotely). - Perform other duties as assigned appropriately for a Deployment Specialist.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.
Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:
College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.
Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.
Preferred Qualifications1. Bachelor's Degree in related fields
2. Three years of professional IT experience.
3. Experience with Oracle, PostgresSQL, SQL Server DBMS
4. Experience with Windows, Linux, Unix Operating systems
5. Project management experience.

- Ability to understand the "big picture" to provide long-term resolutions.
Appointment InformationThis is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5031 - Information Technology Technical Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 3/3/2025. The budgeted salary range for the position is $77,000 to $87,000 Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience,
while also considering internal equity.
