Job Description:Alumni & Employer Engagement- Initiate and cultivate relationships with local and regional employers, alumni, campus partners, and community stakeholders to grow the number of high-quality internship and employment opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with on-campus partners, including faculty members and other administrators, to identify opportunities to engage employers and alumni.
- Conduct on-site visits with current and prospective employer contacts and College alumni to increase engagement with recruiting opportunities.
- Serve as primary relationship manager for local and regional employers; maintain records of current employer contacts.
- Oversee on-campus recruiting activities and events and provide coordination and guidance to campus partners that lead recruiting events.
- Manage employer development planning and execution of new recruitment strategies.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with employers who foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- In partnership with Advancement, recruit and build relationships with alumni and parent volunteers to facilitate career opportunities for students and recent graduates.
- Create and deliver workshops, networking events, on campus recruiting and engaging employer and alumni programs
Planning and Management- Research and stay informed on local, regional, and national hiring practices, employment trends, and other labor-related issues.
- Synthesizes feedback from advisors, the early engagement team, and other sources of expertise to identify new partners and ensure opportunities are available across industry areas and disciplines.
- Maintains current and timely outreach records and communicates regularly with team members.
- Maintain customer relationship management (CRM) for contact management, and develop standards and processes to support and facilitate integration with the campus.
- Provide direct supervision of part-time student intern(s), as needed.
- Contribute to designing, creating, and maintaining print and online employer/partner resources.
- Provide logistical support for employers for all types of recruiting events.
Career Advising- Engage in holistic career advising, drawing from academic advising, career counseling, and student development theories; Clark University academic requirements; Clark University resources and national best practices.
- Advise students on identifying appropriate academic and career options, assessing and exploring those options, and developing concrete academic and career goals.
- Advise students on negotiating offers, overall ethical/professional conduct, resume/cover letter writing, informational interviewing, interview preparation, internship/job searching, networking.
- Handles student feedback on questionable employer behavior or activities.
- Responds to e-mail, phone, and in-person inquiries from current students. Advise or refer themappropriately.?Maintains student files and records.
Participate in the growth and development of the Center, Division, and Clark University- Support key initiatives and experiences within the Division of Student Success and the University, such as opening weekend, orientation, commencement, family weekend, traditional events, etc.
- Serve as a responsible committee representative as requested.
- Remain cognizant of the University's mission and identity, the constant promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the importance of student voices.
- Communicate effectively with your supervisor concerning the pertinent unit and/or University matters.
- Other duties as assigned that are within the best interest of the division and department.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in a University environment directly working with an undergraduate population in a career services related function or in corporate talent acquisition
- Experience with college recruiting from a higher education or a business perspective.
- Ability to work productively within a high-functioning team.
- Demonstrated experience in counseling, teaching, and event management skills
- Experience working with diverse populations and an ability to guide diverse individuals toward future opportunities.
- Strong oral and professional communication skills, demonstrated abilities in interpersonal relations, presentation and public speaking skills, strategic planning and decision-making ability, and problem solving skills.
- Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience leveraging technology to deliver programming, and familiarity with web-based recruitment tools and resources.
- Appropriately manages confidential information and sensitive situations.
- Uses software to collect and manage data, solve problems using data, and generate reports.
- Occasional independent travel is required.
- Available to work some nights and weekends.
