The Office of Institutional Advancement at Pfeiffer University seeks an Advancement Officer to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward leadership gift benefactors for the highest priorities of the University. Candidates should have a proven track record of success in sales, business development and fund raising. Travel is required to meet with prospective and current donors. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skill. Candidates should be goals and outcomes oriented with excellent relationship building skills.

Duties
- Embrace and articulate the mission of Pfeiffer University and possess a strong understanding of its programs.
- Proactively identify potential benefactors among friends, alumni, parents, and partners of the University.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop proposals that reflect the University's priorities and fit donor interests.
- Manage prospect portfolio in an organized and disciplined manner, consulting with team members regarding strategy and action plan for cultivation, development and stewardship.
- Proactively identify potential major gift benefactors, including annual fund donors and donors capable of major gifts. Meet with, solicit, and close gifts from donor prospects in order to meet annually established fund raising goals.
- Participate as a member of the University's Institutional Advancement team in the execution of a comprehensive advancement program.
- Must be able to perform tasks on own initiative.
- Complete reports on all prospect and donor interactions.
Candidate must be able to work in a high-performing team environment, both independently and as a team member. Candidate must be able to multi-task and effectively prioritize.
Qualifications
* A minimum of three years successful fund raising experience, with demonstrable record of progressive achievement preferred. * Basic knowledge of Raiser's Edge or other CRM software. * Demonstrated leadership skill and ability to plan and think strategically.* Possess a high degree of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.* High energy, drive, integrity, sincerity.* Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
