We are searching for a passionate and experienced leader to guide The SADS Foundation into the future. The CEO will possess a deep commitment to our mission: to save the lives and support the children, adults, and families affected by genetic heart conditions that can cause sudden death.
About the Position
To achieve this vision, the ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work with the Board of Trustees, overseeing all aspects of the organization, including program development, financial stability, staff leadership, and stakeholder engagement. By fostering alliances and partnerships, the CEO will expand our resources to enable SADS to better meet the needs of our community.
We are looking for a strategic thinker who is able to balance short-term needs with long-term planning. They will have excellent communication skills and be able to represent our organization to a variety of audiences.
Primary responsibilities of the CEO include:
- Fundraising and development: Ensure that the organization raises enough funds to meet its annual goals and expand its mission. Work with the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders to establish fundraising priorities and opportunities. Provide leadership and direction to staff and Board involved in fundraising and development activities.
- Financial oversight: Work with the Board to develop and manage the nonprofit’s budget, financial planning, and financial reports to ensure sustainability, transparency and compliance with regulations.
- Strategic planning: Work with the Board and staff to develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan. Identify opportunities for growth and expansion, and develop plans to pursue them.
- Communications: Engage with the community, and enhance the organization’s public image and advocacy efforts. Represent our organization to a variety of audiences.
- Program Development and Management: Develop a strategic program planning process to identify programs that align with the organization’s mission and goals, working closely with staff, board and other stakeholders to ensure that programs are effective, efficient, and meet the needs of the organization’s constituents.
- Operational management: Oversee the day-to-day operations to ensure that the organization’s staff, resources, and processes are effectively managed.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit management, with a proven track record of success in project leadership, overseeing fundraising and programs, and managing and motivating staff.
- Knowledge of nonprofit financial management and budgeting.
- Ability and experience with coalition-building, working collaboratively with staff, Board of Trustees, donors, and other stakeholders.
