Job Title: Recovery Coach | Safe Harbor Addiction Recovery Support Center
Description: We are seeking recovery coaches for our Addiction Recovery Support Center (ARSC)
which provides support for individuals and families impacted by addiction and/or alcohol. In this
position you will be able to make an impact on people at a potential turning point in their lives who
come to us by appointment or as walk-ins to the center. You will also connect them to other
community resources, provide family resources and follow up with them. You will also lead groups,
teach life skills and provide other services as the Safe Harbor program grows. A significant aspect of
this position is focused on Community Innovation in person through Lunch and Learns, the Advisory
Board and also through written communication such as newsletters and social media. Work days
and hours are TBD.
Qualifications
▪ At least two years of active recovery from addiction (substance(s) or alcohol)
▪ An on-going plan to maintain your addiction recovery (substance(s) or alcohol)
▪ Desire to be part of a team of innovators who are always working to improve the services we
offer and to support each other in an evolving environment
▪ A passion for serving individuals and families impacted by addiction
▪ Ability to quickly connect with peers and family members, offering hope and resources
▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to record accurate data,
prepare reports, use various software, train groups and share your story
▪ Ability to communicate with peers, family members and coworkers in a positive way
▪ Ability to network with other organizations to learn about resources and build positive
collaboration
▪ Willingness to learn and grow through continuing education and training
▪ A Commitment to the Navigate Recovery code of ethics and Core Values
▪ 40 hours of Recovery Coach (CARES) training is provided
▪ Complete and pass CARES exam within a year of hire date
▪ Maintain CARES certification through obtaining required CEUs
▪ Specialized Coach training in a peer support recovery center (provided)
Duties
▪ Provide Peer support coaching and sessions for families and individuals both in person and
by electronic means such as phone, video and internet
▪ Interview peer’s and record session notes in our EMR and record information in our CRM
▪ Provide customized, individualized information and appropriate resources based on what is
actually available to the peer.
▪ Assist in updating the resource list and adding new resources following process document
- Train high risk people and family members on Naloxone for possible future overdoses
▪ Connect with the family/loved ones of peers (with permission) to offer family resources
▪ Provide Remote Recovery support (phone, email, text) for peers who we support at Safe
Harbor
▪ Maintain Safe Harbor records in EMR, DBHDD system and CRM and manage Safe Harbor
Calendar.
▪ Assist in creating reports required to meet grant requirements/business needs
▪ Manage Lunch and Learn Process and prepare for each one
▪ Maintain Advisory Board list and support communication with that group
▪ Working with Program Manager, write an email communications plan for emailing on a
routine basis, implement and create additional ones as needed
▪ Assist with preparing for and advertising events and training
▪ Provide life skills training, (such as steps to employment, computer skills, etc.) one on one
and in groups
▪ Facilitate recovery groups and recovery check in groups at Safe Harbor
▪ Share your story and promote the support and services we provide at Safe Harbor
▪ Assist with Social Media as needed
▪ Other duties as requested
Pay and Benefits
● Work Days and Hours: This is a full time hourly position (40 hours weekly) available
immediately.
● The initial rate of pay is based on qualifications and experience.
● Ten paid Holidays after 90 days, including a floating one for your birthday. Ten PTO days for
vacation, sickness, personal time that begin to accrue on day one and can be used after 90
days.
● Phone Allowance of $50 per month. Reimbursement for business mileage if travel as required.
● Supplemental AFLAC Insurance policies are available. Group rate for Vision and Dental
available.
