Work toward establishing a relationship with past and present donors of Liberty University to encourage continued/renewed financial support of the university. Additionally, this position will work with donors to cultivate them to higher level gifts and or planned gifts. Once a solid relationship history has been established they will transfer prospects to the appropriate Donor Relations and Stewardship Representative/Planned Giving officer.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for initiating and maintaining positive relationships between donors and Liberty University to further develop commitment to the college through financial giving.
2. Responsible for initiating and maintaining positive relationships between donors and Liberty University to further develop commitment to the college through financial giving.
3. Monitor and update donor information in order to ensure accurate reporting, follow-up, and gift acknowledgement.
4. Document each conversation with assigned donors in the CRM database for retention.
5. Work directly with the Prospect Research Analyst to ensure donors are effectively thanked for their gifts in a timely manner.
6. Raise funds for Liberty University scholarships, building projects etc. via telephone calls.
7. Must use discretion and follow process when taking donations via phone calls.
8. Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks.
9. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
1. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in contact center.
2. Must be a team player while effectively and efficiently and effectively communicate with both internal and external clients.
3. Strong knowledge of customer care.
4. Ability to articulate and defend the unique Christian educational mission and vision of Liberty University and its subsidiaries to a wide variety of individuals and groups.
5. Individual must not be in default on any federal student or parent loan.
6. Individual must not be convicted of, or pled nolo contendere or guilty to, a crime involving the acquisition, use, or expenditure of federal, state, or local government funds, -or- be administratively or judicially determined to have committed fraud or any other material violation of law involving federal, state, or local government funds (CFR 668.14(b)(18)(i)).
High School Diploma required with 2 to 3 years' experience in the field preferred. Excellent communication and social skills. Computer knowledge necessary.
