🌍 Exciting Opportunity for Disaster Management Professionals! 🌍
We are thrilled to announce that multiple positions for the NDMA Roster of Disaster Management Professionals have been released! This initiative is supported by UNDP India, with technical support from RedR India.
If you are passionate about making a difference in disaster management and resilience building, this is your chance to be part of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), India roster.
- Name of the Division: Roster
- Purpose / Rationale of the Assignment: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is the apex body responsible for disaster management in India. NDMA is tasked with formulating policies, plans, and guidelines to ensure effective disaster preparedness and response at the national, state, and district levels. In collaboration with local governments and NGOs, NDMA aims to integrate disaster risk reduction strategies through a community-based approach, empowering local communities to actively participate in disaster risk management. However, the lack of trained technical expertise and adequate preparedness measures often exacerbates the impact of disasters. To address this gap, there is a need to strengthen the disaster management framework by ensuring that states have access to a pool of well-trained and experienced experts who can be swiftly deployed when required. In this context, NDMA, in collaboration with the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has engaged RedR India to initiate the development of a 'National Level Roster of Experts.' This roster aims to enhance the disaster management capabilities of states across the country.
