Job Description:
Nassau Community College invites applications for a full-time Assistant to the Director position in the Office of College Development. The Assistant to the Director is responsible for assisting with the College's Development efforts, using the highest of ethical standards. The Assistant to the Director works in an expeditious manner and operates from a data-informed and equity-focused approach to enhance student access and enrollment in collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Student Scholarship(s) Program coordinated through the College Development Office (otherwise known as the NCC Foundation) for Nassau Community College Students; to significantly increase the flow of funds within the first year and to thereafter sustain solid continued growth with proper succession planning; for building awareness and working with interested donors to successfully promote the scholarship program and revenue goals of the department; assist and support fundraising activities for expanding and diversifying the organization's funding base, including but not limited to scholarship funding; develop and maintain new relationships necessary to achieve revenue goals while enhancing the College as a whole from the College's alumnae, and other private, corporate and foundation donors; responsible for scholarship awareness and training of online scholarship system to students, faculty and staff; for all Social Media and Online Campaigns; assist in the design and implementation of developing key external alliances by cultivating individual and philanthropic support; assist with Special Events as assigned and with marketing materials; serve on committees as appointed; ability to work collaboratively within a diverse college community; commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Associate Degree in Marketing or related field; Experience with current management system(s) and programs used in higher education and/or the related area(s); Experience working in higher education; Familiarity with the mission, goals, and objectives of the College and the demographics of the current student body and alumni of NCC; Knowledge of systems used in Higher Education Development, including Microsoft Office Suite; Knowledge and skill in identifying problems, analyzing data, and making recommendations; Knowledge and skill in acquiring, allocating, and managing resources; High level of emotional intelligence and energy; Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; Ability to develop collaborative relationships with students, faculty, administration, and internal and external constituencies; and Ability to manage and adapt to change.
Additional Information:
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area.
Three (3) years of experience Fundraising for a Not-for-Profit organization.
Three (3) years of experience in project management and/or administration.
