Summary Description: The Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Office of Alumni Relations while fostering alumni engagement in the Carson-Newman community. Additionally, the Coordinator will maintain Alumni social media, plan special events, and oversee scheduling for the Chitwood Alumni Center at Hale Place with the administrative assistant to the Senior Vice President for University Relations.
Functional Description: - As an intentionally Christian academic community, Christian employees are hired to advance the mission of Carson-Newman as expressed in our strategic plan, Acorns to Oaks.
- Work with Director in implementing Alumni Relations Strategic Plan and all aspects within
- Create and monitor reunion group Facebook pages.
- Together with the Director, coordinate and attend the annual C-N Alumni & Friends gathering at Tennessee Baptist Convention.
- Advise the Assistant to VP of University Relations of special events for inclusion in calendar as well as Alumni Board meeting dates, times, agenda and provide post-meeting minutes.
- Act as host of Chitwood Alumni Center at Hale Place by coordinating meeting reservations, communicating expectations, and making maintenance requests as needed.
- Work with Director and Marketing department to communicate alumni news to stakeholders.
- Enter appropriate constituent interaction, news, events and updates into Slate regularly.
- Serve as advisor to the Student Ambassador Association as outlined in University's Advisor Handbook and facilitate the Student Philanthropy Month Project.
- Serve as budget officer for Student Ambassador Association accounts.
- Monitor and respond appropriately to cnalum@cn.edu email and social media accounts of the Carson-Newman Alumni Association.
- Coordinate with gift officers to identify prospects for major gift solicitation.
- Work with Enrollment Management (Admissions) in involving alumni in the recruitment process: Showcase Saturdays, Family weekends, etc.
- Provide input in annual strategic planning process.
- Work with Director, staff and volunteers to help plan annual Homecoming activities, including but not limited to 50th anniversary reunions and non-50th benchmark reunions (5, 10, 20, 25, etc.) as they strategically relate to engaging alumni base.
- Nights and weekends occasionally required.

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
Experience: Some experience in communication preferred
Required Skills: Excellent written and oral communication. Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds. Superior organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Basic working knowledge of Slate
