Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Major Gifts- Manage a portfolio of approximately 75-100 major gift prospects and donors
- Assist donors in accomplishing their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with Viterbo University.
- Continuously manage and refine prospect portfolio.
- Establish gift targets matching prospect interests and planning individual major gift development strategies.
- Plan and execute individual major gift cultivation and solicitation resulting in a minimum of 10 personal face-to-face contacts each month with major gift benefactors.
- Activity in support of closing major gifts include securing appointments, drafting correspondence and reports, developing proposals and providing staff follow-up and filing records on the detail of cultivation and solicitation. All substantive interactions with prospects must be detailed in the Advancement database within 10 days of the visit or interaction.
Other- Support Viterbo University's management objectives, vision, and Franciscan tradition and undertake all activities in a positive manner.
- Collaborate with advancement colleagues, faculty, and university leadership in support of Advancement and University goals and objectives.
- Other tasks as assigned.
General Requirements/Qualifications:Education- Baccalaureate degree required. Master's degree in relevant field preferred and/or experience deemed equivalent and relevant by the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
Work Experience- A career history of commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards.
- A career history of success in work with non-profits on fundraising efforts.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while giving appropriate attention to detail.
- Proven ability to interact with varied constituencies in a professional manner.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as with staff and volunteers.
- Facility and proficiency with technology are necessary for the position.
- Ability to effectively communicate the gift opportunities for the university to prospects in a face-to-face situation and "make the ask."
- Ability to accept constructive criticism in a positive and productive manner.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. Viterbo University is unable to sponsor or take over the sponsorship of the Employment Visa
