Job Summary

Reporting to an Associate Director, Donor Relations & Stewardship, the Assistant Director will contribute to a comprehensive stewardship program to help cultivate, recognize and steward Kellogg alumni and friends as part of the Advancement team. This position will play an integral role to help Kellogg to continue to cultivate and steward its alumni and friends constituency.
Specific Responsibilities:
Administration:
- Completes standard, routine stewardship correspondence as needed including items such as acknowledgment letters and holiday cards. Help implement processes in an efficient, timely and effective manner. Plan and analyze data to ensure all segments, including reunion, first time, consistent givers, Kellogg Leadership Circle, major and principal gift donors are properly acknowledged and strategically considered.
Project coordination of stewardship correspondence from the Dean:
- Work with Communications to ensure all required correspondence to donors, including acknowledgement letters, condolence letters and holiday cards, from the Dean are created in a timely manner. Ensure all correspondence is sent and properly tracked in Catracks and OnBase for the Dean's performance metrics.
Pledge Reminders:
- Oversee the pledge reminder system, ensuring all pledge reminders are sent on a timely basis to all donors with pledge balances. Analyze the data and ensure donors' giving records are updated. Prepare information for follow-up with donors and in some cases, conduct outreach. Work with the Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship on outstanding pledge balances.
Donor Walls and Named Spaces:
- Responsible for reviewing and updating all donor walls and named spaces to Kellogg. Develop and coordinate the creation of new recognition signage and plaques as necessary and manage vendor communications. Partner with gift officers with outreach communications. Document recognition into donor database and OnBase.
Event Support and Stewardship Gift Management:
- Help staff donor-related meetings and events as needed (stewardship receptions, donor recognition events, department flagship events). Project manage smaller events, as needed. Lead stewardship gift management, including developing ideas in collaboration with others. Maintain inventory and work with vendors and the creative design team.
Gift and Fund related work:
- Responsible for pulling the daily gift report. Request new fund allocations, as needed. Once created, assist in updating stewardship information. Provide support for donor inquiries. Research older funds' purposes and donors, as needed.
- Develop appropriate infrastructures, systems and materials as required; accept other duties as assigned by the Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship.
Minimum Qualifications: (Education, experience, and any other certifications or clearances)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent direct experience of 5 to 8 years
- 1-2 years experience in related setting, preferably in an educational setting and/or in fundraising.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively with other staff and volunteers.
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational and project management skills.
- Computer skills, proficiency in working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to work discreetly with sensitive and confidential information.

Target hiring range for this position will be $74,000 - $90,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
