Position Summary
The alumni and parent engagement coordinator joins a dynamic team in Alumni and Parent Engagement and reports to the Senior Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement. Alumni engagement consists of building strong and enduring ties to the university through the cultivation of positive relationships with alumni. Key to our success is the ability to develop new and innovative programs in response to alumni interests and needs. The position will perform a variety of tasks around event management, event marketing and tracking of alumni engagement including producing nametags and updating the University-wide database They will also supervise the student workers for the department.Bryant University is a private New England university with a tradition of innovation and a global vision for success. - Be an active participant in Alumni and Parent Engagement activities, programs and events
- Support team efforts through event management including site research, contract negotiation, and preparation of collateral materials (nametags and invitations) for alumni programs throughout the US and abroad.
- Oversee pre- and post-event tracking to measure alumni engagement including event registration, attendee tracking, and database updates.
- Supervise student workers who assist with attendee tracking and other database updates.
- Track non-event related alumni engagement in database of record.
- Be the voice of the office by responding to the alumni phone line and answering or triaging questions posted to the alumni@bryant email.
- Assist members of the Alumni Engagement team with digital outreach, content development and web site updates
- Cross-train on use of Anthology e-communications tools and participate in social media outreach.
- Cross-train on Anthology web site content management system
- Assist with the management and outreach for the Alumni Travel Program including coordination of marketing with vendors, communications with travelers, and photo documentary follow up.
- Supervise student workers.
- Participate in signature alumni engagement programs like Reunion@Homecoming, Family and Friends Weekend, Alumni Achievement Awards, Commencement and other programs as required
Qualifications
This position requires an associate's degree or higher and 1-2 years of office experience through work or internships. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, oral and written, skills. Knowledge or courses in web design, computer information systems and a broad understanding of the strategic use of various social media platforms is helpful. We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter who appreciates higher education (and Bryant) and considers him/herself to be an active learner and a good listener. Specific Skills:- Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas and information clearly.
- Extreme attention to detail as well as outstanding organization and time management skills.
- Collaborative team player able to integrate with a diverse Alumni and Parent Engagement team full of opinions and ideas.
- Experience with power point, excel, Canva, database and basic web content development and familiarity with social platforms.
- Self-motivator with desire to learn multiple aspects of alumni engagement and take ownership of task assignments through to completion.
Working Environment
Regular attendance at assigned job site with flexibility for occasional remote work, occasional weekend and evening monitoring of email or event attendance, and the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and constituents are essential functions of this position.
