Job Description:JOB SUMMARY: The Development Services Coordinator is responsible for organizing and overseeing the institution's records relating to current and prospective donors, researching to discover prospects for gifts, and documenting the association of these prospects with the university. This position also provides high-level administrative support to the vice president for development and director of the foundation by preparing reports, handling data requests, and performing clerical functions such as gift processing and Development board tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Processes and records charitable gifts, ensuring accurate entry, timely acknowledgment, and proper documentation in accordance with organizational procedures.
- Supports major gift development efforts by conducting prospect research and maintaining comprehensive records of donor activity, giving history, and fund balances.
- Serves as a liaison with the Foundation Board and supports regular communication to include scheduling committee meetings and full board meetings
- Regularly supports other Development units (Alumni Relations and Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum) with high-level administrative support to include list/report requests, prospect and alumni research, and event management
- Assists with development research on major gift prospects
- Schedules and organizes complex departmental activities, which can include meetings, department travel, catering, and departmental events
- Answers phones, responds to email, forwards messages, and confirms appointments
- Performs data aggregation and analysis to create (format, edit, and proofread) documents and reports
- Takes initiative in conducting research projects
- Acts as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies
- Handles confidential and nonrecurring information and explains policies when necessary
- Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects
- Assists department personnel in administering policies and programs associated with public relations, communications, and specialized events designated to support development goals

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of relevant professional experience. This may include basic budgeting, financial modeling, research and analysis of major gift prospects, or experience in database management and development services.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent phone etiquette and customer service abilities.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrates strong professional integrity, critical thinking, sound judgment, and effective problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to quickly learn new software and systems.
- Possesses basic research skills and the ability to understand and apply institutional policies and procedures.
- Experience and ability to positively interact with all members of the campus community.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:- Work will be performed in the office, which includes working at a computer for up to eight hours daily.
- Duties are generally performed inside and not exposed to adverse conditions.
