Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Annual Giving will be reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Assistant Director of Annual Giving will be expected to develop and implement plans, new projects and resources to maximize and increase dollars and participation to the CSU Annual Giving Program.Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Urban Studies, Communications, Public Relations or related studied
- Minimum of three years of experience in fundraising or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management or Business Administration
- Experience working with CRMs
- Experience in higher education, nonprofits, fundraising or marketing
- Experience working with high net wealth individuals and/or volunteers
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of higher education development and fundraising with an understanding of individual giving programs, and detailed understanding of annual fundraising programs, such as direct mail, phonathon and personal solicitation programs
- Proficient in written and verbal communication skills, the ability to make effective presentations, have strong public speaking skills, develop and drive change and effectively communicate change.
- Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a "Customer Focus" attitude and delivery.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective team player, in addition to being highly organized, self-directed and forward-thinking.
- Skilled in project management, problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence and persuasion. The ability to function as systems thinker and be solution minded with a global perspective.
- Detailed oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze and organize information, have effective project and time management skills and be well organized.
- Ability to successfully perform general math calculations and have strong calculation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel occasionally and work occasional weekends
