Under the direction of the Vice President of Advancement, the Associate Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations will help FSC reach our annual giving and alumni engagement goals through soliciting support from Spivey Society Members, Recent and Young Alumni, Athletics Alumni, Legacy Alumni, and Reunion Alumni who are celebrating milestone reunions. In addition, this position will help design messages and programs to encourage greater involvement with the College with other key audiences including parents, faculty & staff, and friends and fans of the College.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage a portfolio of 80 donor prospects to solicit annual gifts, with a focus on increasing donor retention and upgrading gift levels year over year.
- In consultation with the development team, this position will develop and implement new annual giving strategies to engage recent and young alumni (graduates within the last 10 years), including a more robust reunion giving strategy aimed at increasing alumni engagement and participation and revenue.
- Travel throughout Florida and the Southeast as expected to meet with alumni and increase engagement with the College.
- Draft and manage direct mail and digital solicitation campaigns, including messaging for email, online platforms, and affinity groups (e.g., parents, athletics, academic departments), with a focus on maximizing donor conversion and ROI.
- Manage the process of working with the design and printing vendor to create, edit, and finalize direct mail solicitations, along with other FSC materials as needed
- Assist with the development, management, and execution of giving campaigns, including Day of Giving and Giving Tuesday along with securing matching gift challenges with the Director of Annual Giving and Scholarships and development team.
- Attend College events as necessary to serve as a host or assistant to other departments.
- Contribute to the success of the department by performing all other duties as needed to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of the College.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in communications, English, public relations, graphic design, or marketing.
2. Minimum of one to two years of experience in higher education fundraising or equivalent required.
3. Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint required; Publisher or similar publication design software preferred).
4. Strong writing experience required
5. Strong planning and organizational skills with a demonstrated track record of successful gift solicitations.
6. Demonstrated ability to exceed all goals.
7. Web, email, and social media experience required.
8. Experience producing marketing plans and printed and electronic materials for fundraising and stewardship purposes preferred.
9. Excellent written and oral communication skills, creativity, a strong sense of professionalism, ability to manage diverse types of work assignments, and the ability to maintain confidences.
