About the Role
Applications are open until December 29, 2025.
Reporting to the CEO, this role is pivotal in partnering across the organisation to design and execute the next phase of Founders Pledge. We are at an inflection point, whereby we have achieved exponential growth, but our ambition exceeds what we can deliver with our current model. We are seeking someone with exceptional strategic and operational expertise to help us unlock scale in our current model, and work with the leadership team to pick the right ‘bets’ to reach our 10 year goals.
There are three key strands strands to the role:
1) 10 year growth strategy
2) Designing and delivering our annual strategy
3) Overseeing operations across the organisation
10 year growth strategy
In 2024, Founders Pledge set an exciting and ambitious 10 year growth target ‘Vision 2035’ that requires us to innovate and adapt to achieve it. In 2025 we explored many avenues to growth and have a short list to explore further. The Strategy and Operations Director will have the expertise to help further evaluate these ideas, add to them, and help us explore this complex space with experiments and tests to narrow the focus and launch successful additional path(s) to growth.
Designing and delivering our annual strategy
Founders Pledge has a mature process for annual planning and ongoing strategy evolution, yet as a scale up, the nature and content of the strategy and plan evolves significantly every year. This role would deliver the annual plan, set OKRs and other metrics, and progress and translate our thinking and decision making to outcomes throughout the year.
Overseeing operations and risk management across the organisation
This role will work with functional leaders to ensure that our strategy translates into joined up projects and initiatives, which stay on track and that key performance indicators are sufficient to help us achieve the scale we are looking to achieve. Founders Pledge mirrors our members in that we take risk and acknowledge that higher risk can unlock higher rewards. Appropriate safeguards need to be in place, and right-sizing is important especially as we explore new avenues to impact. The supporting teams reporting into this role include Impact analytics and Risk and Compliance.
