Position SummaryThe Executive Director of the Wallace Foundations reports to the Vice President/Dean, Institutional Services and Community Development, and serves as liaison to the College foundations. The position is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive institutional advancement programs, including annual fund, corporate and foundation relations, major gifts and gift planning, endowment, capital campaigns, and alumni and constituent relations efforts. The position is responsible for enhancing existing relationships while building new ones, as well as developing systems and programs that enhance the generosity and resources of the community. The position provides support for special events and functions of the College as appropriate.
POSTING DATE: DECEMBER 17, 2025 SALARY: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule C2 (range: $74,597 - $111,563).
ANTICIPATED START DATE: FEBRUARY 1, 2026
This position will be based initially at Wallace campus in Dothan, Alabama.
More than one position in the same job classification may be filled from the applicants for this position should another vacancy occur during the search process.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdministration & Management- Lead and implement a comprehensive fundraising program supporting the College's strategic vision.
- Participate in strategic planning to strengthen financial resources.
- Develop planned giving, donor strategies, and capital campaigns.
- Coordinate fundraising events and targeted corporate/foundation drives.
Fiscal Responsibilities- Oversee financial activities of the Foundation.
- Implement Board investment policies and manage endowment distribution in collaboration with the President and Board.
- Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive fund-raising program which includes individual, group, and corporate giving; capital campaigns; alumni outreach; District employee outreach; planned giving; and estate planning.
- Promotes, maintains, grows, and administers scholarship programs.
Foundation Board Relations- Ensure transparency and accountability in daily Foundation operations.
- Recruit, orient, train, and support the Board of Directors.
- Plan and attend all Board meetings.
- Leads the Foundation and Board of Directors in the development and implementation of a strategic plan that aligns with the College's strategic plan.
- Coordinate Foundation activities with campus groups, alumni, Board committees, and volunteers.
Community & Alumni Relations- Serve as a College ambassador and strengthen community connections.
- Strengthen alumni and family engagement.
- Conduct ongoing community outreach and participate in internal and external events.
- Builds a strong and effective network of supporters among the College's external public, such as community and business leaders, as well as successful role models in the professional and cultural fields of endeavor.
- Develops and manages a portfolio of the Foundation's top donors/major donor prospects to be personally visited at least once a year, including conducting face-to-face solicitations as necessary.
Supervision & Personnel Management- Ensure alignment with the College's mission and goals.
- Provide supervisory oversight for the foundations department.
- Establish short- and long-term departmental priorities.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide performance improvement plans as needed.
- Support employee growth through coaching, training, and professional development.

Qualifications- A bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Education, Business, Organizational Management, or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of professional work experience in foundation and/or fundraising activities, such as donor relations, soliciting gifts, and managing comprehensive fundraising campaigns is required.
- Ability to travel and work non-standard and extended hours is required.
- Prior experience in a post-secondary education institution is preferred.
ADVISORY COMMITTEE: The President will appoint an Advisory Screening and Interview Committee to include representatives of the College faculty and staff. This committee will employ appropriate procedures, including the review of application packets, interview, and demonstration of competency, to determine which applicants are to be recommended to the President for further consideration. From all the applications received, a screening committee will select the applicants to be interviewed.
