Responsible for facilitating the coordination and development of various initiatives and projects within the Office of Development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist in the planning, coordinating, and execution of short and long-range events and projects that enhance the engagement efforts with alumni, donors, businesses, and prospects.
- Assist in building on existing as well as creating new strategic opportunities that support high-level engagement programming.
- Provide essential administrative support where necessary.
- Assist with the ongoing management of, and implementation of specialized public relations efforts and fundraising initiatives as prioritized by Development Executive Leadership.
- Establish collaborative working relationships with all colleagues within the Office of Development to meet project deadlines.
- Document accurate and detailed records, contact reports and background data to facilitate routine reports on activities and progress towards goals.
- Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.
- Ability to articulate and defend the unique Christian educational mission and vision of Liberty University and its subsidiaries to a wide variety of individuals and groups.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with highly confidential and sensitive information pertaining to university constituents.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPSThis position interacts with donors, alumni, potential students, businesses, and the public on a regular basis through phone calls, email, written correspondence and in person. QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS- Bachelor's Degree or mixture of education and equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years of progressively responsible experience as an event and operations professional or comparable experience.

- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.

- Possess communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business, government and community constituencies.
- Ability to interact effectively with academic leadership, faculty, prospects, donors, and/or volunteers in a wide range of roles.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and experience in managing events and other complex activities in support of key objectives.
- Program planning and leadership skills.
- Requires basic computer skills.
Problem Solving- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of a routine nature.
Physical and Sensory Abilities- Ability to travel as needed. Will need to sit for extended periods in a car or airplane while traveling.
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
- Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop in order to conduct business.
- Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS Work EnvironmentThe working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting while in the office. It is well lit and the noise level is quiet. The travel portion of the essential functions of this position will be performed away from the campus office and in people's homes, offices, workplaces, or public places.
Driving RequirementsThe use of a LU vehicle, one's personal vehicle or a rental car will be needed at times in the performance of essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and the ability to qualify for Liberty University insurance coverage is required.
