Foster Family Support Worker
Satori Homes Inc. is a private foster care agency licensed by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. We provide therapeutic supports within a foster care setting for children and youth aged 0 to 18+.
Position Summary
The Foster Family Support Worker (FFSW) is responsible for delivering therapeutic and supportive services to children, youth, and their foster families. Support is provided both within foster homes and in the community. Foster homes are located throughout Guelph, Kitchener/Waterloo, Dufferin County, Cambridge, Brampton, North York, and surrounding areas. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required, as travel between locations is an essential component of the role.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support within foster homes and in the community.
- Serve as a supportive resource to children/youth and foster families.
- Participate in Care Planning as a core member of each young persons Care Team.
- Attend meetings to provide input on education, social skills, recreation, community and cultural connections, clinical needs, and transition planning.
- Advocate for children/youth and foster parents.
- Prepare documentation including End of Shift Reports and Incident Reports.
- Participate in supervision and team meetings.
- Perform administrative tasks as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma/degree in Child and Youth Work, Child, Youth & Family Studies, Social Work, or related field; or relevant education with three years’ experience.
- Knowledge of child development, trauma, and mental health.
- Crisis intervention knowledge.
- Familiarity with community resources.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Important Availability Requirement
Most shifts occur during evenings and weekends. Do not apply if you cannot work during these times.
Salary & Benefits
- Starting hourly rate: $25.00 (includes $3.00 Permanent Wage Enhancement).
- Full time opportunities may be available based on availability and performance.
