As part of our next phase, the Foundation is strengthening its policy, data, and digital tools to support governments and ecosystems worldwide, including through the Government Council for Social Innovation (GCSI).
Role Overview
The Policy & Advocacy Lead drives the development of high-quality policy outputs and translates data and research into compelling insights and narratives. The role focuses on shaping policy discussions on legal frameworks and government financing mechanisms for social innovation, while positioning these insights effectively across reports, events, and public-facing channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy Research & Insight Development
- Lead the development of policy workstreams focused on legal frameworks and public financing for social innovation
- Translate quantitative and qualitative data into clear, actionable insights
- Oversee research processes, including managing external consultants and ensuring quality outputs
- Develop policy reports, briefs, and analytical products from concept to publication
- Ensure policy recommendations are grounded in evidence and relevant to government decision-makers
- Advocacy & Strategic Communications
- Translate technical policy outputs into compelling narratives for diverse audiences
- Develop advocacy materials, including opinion pieces, briefing notes, and social media content
- Support positioning of key insights at conferences, high-level events, and public forums
- Craft clear messaging to influence policy debates on government financing (e.g. direct investment, dormant assets, fiscal policy tools)
- Contribute to the organization’s thought leadership on enabling frameworks for social innovation
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who is:
- Skilled at translating data and complex policy issues into clear, engaging insights
- A strong writer with experience in policy storytelling and advocacy
- Comfortable bridging research, policy, and communications
- Structured and reliable in managing multiple workstreams and external contributors
- Proactive and comfortable working in a small, distributed team
Qualifications & Experience:
Required
- 5–8 years of experience in public policy, research, or policy advocacy
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in public policy, economics, law, international development, political science, or a related field
- Experience producing policy reports, briefs, and/or advocacy content
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills (quantitative and qualitative)
- Excellent written and spoken English
Desired (not required)
- Experience in fiscal policy, public finance, or legal/regulatory frameworks
- Background in social innovation, social economy, or impact-focused policy
- Experience engaging in international policy processes or platforms
- Additional language skills are an asset
