The Senior/Prospect Development Analyst is a member of the team within University Advancement that provides insights supporting prospect identification, fundraiser portfolio construction, relationship management, and overall prospecting strategies. The Senior/Prospect Development Analyst will join a team of professionals who bring diverse skills and experience in both prospect research and management to deliver best-in-class internal consulting across the entire advancement organization. This position may work closely with one or several teams of frontline fundraisers.
Primary duties:
- Provide detailed written research on constituents that is utilized by Development staff and University leadership.
- Evaluate the philanthropic capacity of prospective donors.
- Monitor a variety of research sources, including websites, government documents, newspapers, databases, wealth screenings, and leads from development staff.
- Partner with gift officers to establish new portfolios; refine and augment existing portfolios; and transition portfolios following staffing changes.
- Utilize data to enhance prospect discovery efforts and prioritize donors for qualification by development staff.
- Analyze gift officer portfolio activity to evaluate the success of outreach strategy.
- Foster a process-oriented mindset on the Prospect Development team, which may include documenting business procedures, centralizing resources, and increasing efficiency.
- Proofread other Prospect Development team members' work for clarity and accuracy.
- Create ad-hoc lists and deliverables for individuals/teams across the organization that inform strategy.
- Utilize CRM querying tools for a variety of requests, including ad-hoc prospect lists or batch uploads.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The salary range(s) for this position is listed below with the final salary based on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and internal equity considerations.
* Senior/Prospect Dev Analyst: $72,450 - $90,550; 5+ years related professional experience
* Prospect Development Analyst: $65,550 - $81,950; 3-5 years related professional experience
* Prospect Development Analyst: $59,400 - $74,250; 1-3 years experience
RequirementsThis position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of related professional experience for the first-level Analyst; 3-5 years of related professional experience for the second-level Analyst; or 5+ years of related professional experience for the Senior level. The ability to interpret, analyze, and summarize biographical and financial data is a key prerequisite. An understanding of databases, along with the ability to analyze and present data, is beneficial. Experience with moderately advanced Excel and/or Blackbaud CRM is a plus. Education and experience equivalencies will be considered.
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and project management skills are required. A sense of curiosity, self-motivation, and a team-oriented approach are also key prerequisites. This position involves work with highly confidential information where complete discretion is required.
