Job Summary
Responsible for the design, administration, and implementation of the University's program for Alumni Engagement that effectively communicates with and generates support from primarily SU Alumni and secondarily from parents, students, faculty, staff, and other University constituencies.
Authority and Accountability
This position will report to the Associate Vice President Alumni Engagement & Advancement. This position currently will have two direct reports that include an Assistant Director and a Coordinator. Budgetarily this position with have considerable responsibility for budget transaction analysis. (Analyze means to separate the budget into elements and critically review budgetary data, verify figures, and develop budget proposals; recommend allocation of dollars to programs, services or departments, and study all the factors in order to determine a financial solution or outcome.)
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Successful candidate will have at least a bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of higher education experience in the area of alumni engagement or related experience in higher education. Related experience could include but are not limited to, leadership positions in enrollment, development, annual giving or stewardship. Characteristics and demonstrated skills such as leadership, innovation, customer service,
proficient written communication, oral communication and interpersonal skills are crucial to this position.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to a candidate who has extensive higher education leadership experience in the area of Alumni Engagement with experience working with volunteer boards. Additional skills such as use of artificial intelligence, problem solving and strategic thinking are preferred qualities of the successful candidate.
