WAN-IFRA Women in News (WIN) is seeking a Lead Coach to guide the vision, quality, and delivery of coaching within the Global Leadership Accelerator and other coaching initiatives .
The Lead Coach will play a critical role in ensuring that participants receive transformative, consistent, and contextually relevant coaching support across WIN’s global programme. The individual must have demonstrated skills in coaching in complex media environments specifically tailored to support media professionals, with particular experience supporting displaced journalists being an asset.
Role Purpose
The Lead Coach will oversee all coaching components of the Global Leadership Accelerator, including coaching operations, curriculum development, coach recruitment and support, quality assurance, supervision, and reporting.
The role requires a reflective, experienced, and people-centred coaching leader who can balance global consistency with local relevance, while building a strong and supportive coaching community aligned with WIN’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Coaching Programme Management
Lead the end-to-end management of coaching within the Global Leadership Accelerator, including coach-participant matching, scheduling, participant experience, coaching workflows, and coordination with programme leadership.
- Curriculum and Tools Development
Design, update, and maintain a unified global coaching curriculum, including coaching tools, reflective exercises, leadership development frameworks, and guidance materials that can be adapted across diverse contexts.
- Coach Recruitment and Onboarding
Identify, vet, recruit, and onboard a diverse pool of skilled coaches, ensuring they are duly certified, understand WIN’s values, programme objectives, coaching approach, safeguarding expectations, and quality standards.
- Coach Support and Supervision
Provide ongoing mentorship and support to coaches, including case clinics, peer reflection spaces, supervision sessions, and guidance on complex participant situations.
- Quality Assurance
Ensure coaching delivery is consistent, high-quality, locally relevant, and aligned with the Global Leadership Accelerator’s leadership development goals through feedback loops, observations, evaluations, and continuous improvement processes.
- Leadership Coaching for the Implementation Team
Provide targeted ad hoc coaching support to the wider implementation team to strengthen alignment, effectiveness, wellbeing, and reflective practice.
- Communication and Reporting
Provide clear and timely updates to the Managing Director and the Global Leadership Accelerator Lead, including coaching progress, risks, participant engagement, completion rates, and quality insights.

The Lead Coach will be assessed on the extent to which they:
- Deliver a globally aligned and high-quality coaching ecosystem.
- Enhance participants’ leadership journeys and professional growth.
- Strengthen coach effectiveness, consistency, and alignment.
- Build a thriving, reflective, and supportive coaching community.
- Ensure coaching delivery is well-coordinated, timely, and responsive.
- Maintain clear reporting, quality assurance, and learning systems.
- Contribute meaningfully to WIN’s broader mission, impact, and leadership development goals.
Required Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- Certified Professional Coach with Significant experience in leadership coaching, executive coaching, career coaching, and organisational development.
- Demonstrated experience managing or supervising coaches across diverse contexts.
- Strong understanding of leadership development, reflective practice, emotional intelligence, and professional growth.
- Experience designing coaching curricula, tools, frameworks, or learning journeys.
- Excellent facilitation, mentoring, and supervision skills.
- Ability to support diverse participants with sensitivity, professionalism, and cultural awareness.
- Strong programme coordination, communication, and reporting skills.
- Commitment to gender equality, inclusion, media development, and WIN’s mission.
- Familiarity with the media sector, women’s leadership, or global development programmes will be an added advantage.
Reporting Line
The Lead Coach will report to the Global Leadership Accelerator Lead and will work closely with relevant programme team members.
