BGC Okanagan is seeking a Director of Philanthropy to lead all core fundraising functions, including major gifts, annual giving, corporate sponsorship, foundation giving, donor stewardship, and signature fundraising events. The Director of Philanthropy builds and manages a portfolio of donors and prospects, strengthens relationships with community stakeholders, and creates a culture of philanthropy across the organization

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a multi-year philanthropic strategy that supports organizational priorities and revenue growth.
- Establish annual fundraising goals and key performance indicators across giving streams.
- Identify and pursue new philanthropic opportunities, including major gifts, grants, sponsorships, campaigns, and legacy giving.
- Build, manage, and grow a portfolio of current and prospective donors.
- Lead donor cultivation, solicitation, recognition, and stewardship strategies.
- Oversee annual giving strategies, donor appeals, and fundraising campaigns.
- Ensure fundraising communications clearly articulate impact, need, and outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with communications and marketing staff to ensure aligned messaging and branding.
- Supervise the Events Coordinator in the planning and execution of events that support revenue, stewardship, and community engagement goals.
- Ensure events are evaluated for return on investment, donor engagement, and long-term relationship value.
- Build sponsorship opportunities that align community partnerships with organizational mission and visibility.
- Design and implement a high-quality stewardship program that deepens donor loyalty and retention.
- Analyze fundraising performance, donor retention, pipeline development, and campaign outcomes.
- Develop and manage the fund development budget and contribute to annual organizational planning.
- Lead, coach, and support the Events Coordinator and future fundraising staff.
- Build collaborative relationships across departments to strengthen storytelling, program alignment, and donor engagement.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in business, communications, nonprofit management, public relations, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of progressive fundraising experience, including major gifts, donor stewardship, and campaign leadership.
- Demonstrated success achieving fundraising targets and securing significant philanthropic support.
- Experience supervising staff and managing cross-functional projects.
- Strong knowledge of donor databases/CRM systems, fundraising analytics, and donor lifecycle strategy.
- CFRE designation is an asset.
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday; occasional evenings and weekends may be required
Salary: $90,000 to $96,000 per year
