THRIVE Social Services is a community-based organization supporting children, youth, adults, and families across Greater Victoria, BC. Through programs focused on mental health, family support, youth development, and community connection, THRIVE works alongside people to build skills, strengthen relationships, and support long-term well-being.
With a dedicated team of approximately 80 employees, including four Directors and seven Managers, THRIVE is known for its collaborative, strengths-based approach and deep community connections. As the lead agency for Foundry Westshore, THRIVE is helping bring an integrated model of care to the region.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of THRIVE. The Executive Director will lead an experienced team of four Directors and seven Managers while working closely with the Board to ensure strong governance, strategic alignment, and organizational sustainability.

Building on a strong foundation of mission-driven service, a committed Board, and a dedicated staff team, the organization is focused on strengthening its long-term sustainability, expanding its impact, and enhancing organizational capacity.
The Executive Director will be skilled in building high-performing teams, managing organizational growth, and supporting staff through effective leadership, coaching, performance management, and professional development. Working closely with the senior leadership team, the Executive Director will foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
The Executive Director will also lead the development and implementation of strategies that support THRIVE's long-term growth, strengthen operational effectiveness, diversify revenue opportunities, and further position the organization as a trusted and impactful community partner.
Qualification and Experience Required
- 5 to 10 years of progressive leadership experience.
- Experience working with a Board of Directors.
- Strong financial management and budgeting experience.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage change.
- Experience in fundraising, grant management, and building and maintaining key relationships.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Preferred
- Knowledge of the BC social services sector.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Understanding of Indigenous cultural safety and reconciliation.
- Graduate degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Working Relationships
- Reports to: Board of Directors.
- Direct Reports: Senior leadership / program and operations staff (as structured).
- Works closely with: Board Chair, Finance lead, senior staff, external partners, and funders.
Working Conditions
- Based in Victoria, BC, with flexibility for community engagement and occasional evening/weekend commitments.
- Combination of office-based work, community engagement, and external relationship building.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $130,000 to $150,000 based on experience.
- Comprehensive Benefits package including:
- 20 days paid holidays per year plus 12 paid statutory holidays.
