POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Manager for Nonprofit and Civic Professionals develops and manages educational programming that builds interreligious literacy, dialogue skills, and relationships among nonprofit and civic leaders from the Greater Baltimore region,to further the mission and vision of ICJS. The Program Manager recruits, develops, teaches, and facilitates a fellowship of civic and nonprofit leaders. The goal of the fellowship is to learn and dialogue together in order to dismantle religious bias and bigotry, gain understanding and respect for religious difference, and develop appreciation and skills for how interreligious dialogue could play a role in building a just society. The Program Manager develops relationships with civic and nonprofit leaders, sustains those relationships, and develops networks between them.

POSITION DETAILS:

The Program Manager develops and manages programming that builds interreligious literacy, dialogue skills, and relationships among nonprofit and civic leaders from the Greater Baltimore region, to further the mission and vision of the ICJS.

Fellowship Development, Planning, and Evaluation (50%)

The Fellowship for Nonprofit and Civic Professionals is an intensive program designed to explore the contested role of religion in public life through study and dialogue. The Program Manager recruits, develops, and manages the fellowship, recruiting an interreligious network of civic and nonprofit leaders who work together to learn and dialogue in order to gain understanding, appreciation, and respect for different religions and a new appreciation for how interreligious dialogue and religious values play a role in building a just society.

Annually recruit a diverse cohort for the fellowship.
Think strategically about how to promote the fellowship for both recruitment and educational purposes.
Design the fellowship curriculum, create monthly lesson plans, and facilitate the sessions.
Design and evaluate learning experiences for fellows in collaboration with ICJS scholars and staff.
Identify, collect, and archive materials to support the learning of fellows.
Cultivate and maintain a network of institutions that can serve cohort members as place-based sites for learning about religious diversity in the Greater Baltimore region.
Establish and monitor an annual program budget.
Assess and evaluate program outcomes and impact.
Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence.

Relationship- and Community-building (20%)

The Program Manager develops relationships, sustains those relationships, and develops networks among the civic and nonprofit leaders.

Creatively explore, plan, and implement new approaches to building interreligious leadership in the nonprofit and civic sectors.
Manage relationships with current fellows as well as with alumni.
Establish and maintain a broadening network of program alumni as an ongoing learning community.
Plan and organize ongoing communication, activities, and other engagement and networking opportunities for fellowship alumni.
Conduct outreach to build connections with community leaders and organizations new to ICJS and promote our work.

Leadership in the Community (15%)

The Program Manager brings leadership and an interreligious voice and perspective to involvement in their sector.

Seek opportunities to represent ICJS with organizational partners.
Look for opportunities to present to other audiences through speaking engagements - locally, regionally, and nationally.
Contribute to interreligious understanding through published articles, essays, or other scholarship.

Internal Organizational Leadership (15%)

The Program Manager participates fully as a member of the staff.

Participate fully in the Program Team, offering support and ideas to colleagues and using the team as a resource for developing the work.
Support the ICJS as needed in staffing and supporting board committees, participating in administrative duties, attending and supporting courses and events.
Assist the ICJS Development Director with communication and reporting to program funders.
Serve as a collaborative staff member, able and willing to complete other duties as needed or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated interest in our mission and vision.
Commitment to exploring religion and public life and fostering interreligious dialogue.
Proven ability with program management, facilitation, and adult education.
Capacity for nuanced communication about challenging topics.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience working in the nonprofit sector, preferably in Baltimore.
Excellent organizational skills.
Attention to detail.
Proficient knowledge of Google Workspace (including Drive, Slides, Docs, and Sheets).
BA/BS degree.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

$70,000 to $80,000 full-time annual salary
