Position Summary
The Associate Director, Alumni and Constituent Engagement, reports to the Senior Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement. The Associate Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of alumni affinity programming which will include more than 200 alumni and constituent stakeholders, the potential of expanding to more than eight different councils and networks that function and operate year-round and produce committee meetings and events annually. (i.e. Emerging Leaders, International, Women's Leadership, Wall Street Council, Parents Leadership Council, Global Alumni Council etc.) Expanding affinity groups will significantly and strategically increase opportunities of engagement and philanthropic support of the University while creating more meaningful relationships among constituents as well as with Bryant University.

- Design and execute campus-based Council meetings and events that bring together high potential alumni and feature or support signature academic programs. Existing Councils include the Wall Street Council, the Parents Leadership Council, and the Alumni Leadership Council. Councils in formation include the School of Health and Behavioral Sciences, the College of Arts and Sciences, and Women's Leadership. On the horizon are Global and Emerging Leaders, among others. Ensure that each group has an appropriate communications plan, leadership structure, and a defined charge, making recommendations based on best practices.
- As a senior member of the Alumni Engagement team, participate in the planning and execution of Bryant's signature campus events including Alumni Achievement Awards, Reunion, and Homecoming
- Recruit and engage alumni affinity groups. Work collaboratively with staff and volunteer leadership for campus organizations like Bryant Pride, the Multicultural Center, the Women's Center, Greek Life and other major campus organizations with dedicated alumni to identify anniversary and other milestone opportunities. Collaborate with The Bryant Fund to promote increased affinity reunion giving, with an emphasis on participation. Develop and execute affinity reunion program outreach through personal meetings, conference calls and mailings.
- Work with Academic partners to deliver alumni/student programming in particular geographic areas.
- Contribute, as appropriate, to Alumni publications such as Engage, broadcast emails and social media posts.
- Assist in the supervision of student support staff.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This position is best filled by an individual who has over 10 years progressively responsible alumni and/or development experience. A public relations orientation; ability to interact effectively with large groups and on a one-to-one basis; strong organizational skills; and strong oral and written communication skills are required. The ability to motivate volunteers is important, as is the ability to cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with alumni, key donors and volunteers, faculty, and the development staff. Some evening and weekend hours as well as domestic and international travel are required.
