Randolph-Macon College is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Young Alumni Engagement Officer to focus on engaging young alumni within ten years of their graduation. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, this full-time position will leverage social media and virtual communication tools to develop engagement strategies that foster meaningful connections, inspire philanthropy, and cultivate lasting support from this vital alumni demographic.
Responsibilities:
- Create targeted strategies that resonate with the interests and priorities of young alumni, ensuring their sustained involvement and giving.
- Serve as a critical liaison for digital engagement initiatives, working closely with the Office of Alumni Relations to build dynamic connections with young alumni.
- Using digital strategies and virtual communication tools, identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of approximately 1,300 young alumni as donors, advocates, and volunteers for Randolph-Macon. Execute 40 - 60 outbound touchpoints daily.
- Develop a comprehensive digital engagement and solicitation strategy for identified segments of the Randolph-Macon alumni body. Actively seek ways to best utilize technologies such as social media, IP targeting, ThruText, Blackbaud NXT, and other tools in annual giving. Work closely with partners in Alumni Relations on engagement strategies and across academic and athletic departments for solicitation strategies.
- Proactively monitor engagement to identify and launch initiatives that drive philanthropic support. Work with the Director and other Annual Giving and Alumni Relations team members to identify trends as they develop.
- Responsible for making solicitation calls and texts on behalf of the Randolph-Macon Annual Fund during Macon Day and the end of the fiscal year campaign. This position will require evening work at certain times throughout the year when related to special events. This position requires travel up to 10% to staff regional events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required and at least one year of experience in development or a related field.
- Experience in higher education, fundraising, alumni or constituent relations, volunteer management, public relations, nonprofit administration, or related fields preferred.
- Crowdfunding and peer-to-peer fundraising experience preferred.
- A high degree of personal initiative is essential, as are strong strategic planning, data analysis, and written communication skills.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to collaborate effectively as a team.
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory motor vehicle record by insurance standards.
- Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as necessary.
