Crossroads Community Ministries (CCM) is in the midst of an organizational transformation requiring a self-motivated individual with excellent organizational and communication skills to serve as the next Renewal Project Intake Specialist. The Renewal Project (TRP) is a 180-day stabilization program that offers essential services that help individuals progress toward ending their homelessness. Fundamental services include individual counseling and assessment, case management, a mailing address and mailbox access, documentation services, and MARTA passes for employment-related and medical emergencies.
Reporting to the Director of Operations and TRP Lead Case Manager, the individual in this role must have at least three (3) years of administrative and/or intake assessment experience, preferably in a non-profit/homeless service setting. The Intake Specialist must demonstrate proficiency in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meets, etc.), organization and communication. Initiative, flexibility, and time management are keys to success in this role. Lifting of up to 25 pounds is required along with use of personal vehicle.
This is a full-time hourly position, with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday (except for scheduled holidays) from 9:00am-4:00pm and is physically located in Atlanta (420 Courtland St. NE) and will include responsibilities at the CCM offices as well as partner agencies and food distribution facilities.
Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
TRP Intake Station
- Greeting all guests and provide instructions based on presenting needs. Handling all prescreening of TRP guests to determine the appropriate service pathway: (1) Stabilization Check-in, (2) Mailroom visit, (3) BC Check-in Utilizing ClientTrack (HMIS) and internal check-in sheets to manage stabilization check-in. Utilizing and working with security staff to direct guests and/or handle any concerns.
Mailroom
- Picking up mail, returning all RTS mail and bins to the post office daily. Handling initial sorting of new daily mail which includes: Pulling all Crossroads mail, Birth Certificates and junk mail.
- Organizing and maintaining the mailroom. Working with the TRP Manager and Development Director to supervise mailroom volunteers and share items that need to be addressed.
Guest records
- Reviewing, labeling, inputting, and filing all Birth Certificates that have come via mail/FedEx/UPS. Maintaining receipt log of Birth Certificates that have been picked up.
Communications
- Answering the main Help Desk phone line as able. Checking the voicemail, direct messages and returning calls daily as able.
Resource Closet
- Collectively with TRP Team keeping the Resource Closet organized and clean.
Education
High School diploma (some college preferred)
Experience
- Minimum three (3) years demonstrated success in administrative and/or intake assessment experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Environmental and Working Conditions
Normal internal office environment. Local travel estimated at 10-15%. The individual selected for this position must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to navigate local areas by using a map or other direction methods.
Regular schedule of 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday, except for scheduled holidays.

High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Superior interpersonal abilities, including conflict resolution and deescalation. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, displaying tact, maturity and flexibility. Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment. Skills essential for successful communications include speaking and writing. Must be physically able to travel by car or other modes of transportation and lift at least 25 pounds.
