Government, Corporate & Foundations (GCFR) Specialist (Hybrid)The Government, Corporate & Foundations (GCFR) Specialist provides comprehensive research, writing, and reporting support for the College's grants program, focusing on government, corporate, and private foundation funding sources. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of GCFR within the Advancement team, this role engages with multiple stakeholders to research, develop, propose, and steward fundable projects.
The successful candidate will leverage their experience in higher education fundraising to advance and maintain external organizational relationships that benefit the College. Working both independently and collaboratively, the GCFR Specialist will contribute to meeting departmental fundraising goals through effective grant proposal submission and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:Research & Development
- Research faculty and staff funding requests and perform initial foundation, state, and federal alignment research
- Develop a pipeline of potential funders in response to College needs
- Assist in program development through interviews with key faculty and staff, research, and foundation guideline assessment
Grant Writing & Submission
- Prepare, write, and submit grant proposals both individually and cooperatively with the GCFR Officer and AVP
- Support the advancement of College initiatives through effective proposal development
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the proposal process
Grant Management & Reporting
- Assist in managing grant programs, working with project managers, finance department, and within foundation guidelines
- Prepare and submit reports for awarded grants, coordinating with project managers and finance department
- Manage grant files, timelines, and deadlines to ensure proper stewardship
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping in Raiser's Edge and other systems for team coordination of grant proposals, visits, reports, and stewardship
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 1-3 years of related experience in higher education fundraising and/or grant writing with a proven record of success
- Strategic thinking and process management abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail with ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent organizational, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong written communication skills with ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals
- Knowledge of research techniques, grant writing, and fundraising experience preferred
- Higher education experience preferred
