As the Graduate Assistant for Alumni Engagement and Marketing & Communications, you will gain practical experience in various facets of alumni engagement and marketing at Carroll University. The position will assist the alumni team in aspects of alumni engagement including but not limited to: Homecoming, Reunion & Family Weekend, the Alumni Council, Student Alumni Ambassadors, regional events, young alumni engagement, and the marketing and communications team in various aspects of marketing including but not limited to website updates, social media support, and content creation. This is a two-year position with the expectation of successful graduation from Carroll University with a Master's Degree.
Responsibilities:- Represent Carroll University at internal and external events.
- Assist with the coordination of event logistics including but not limited to planning, outreach to vendors, preparing event materials, photo and video coverage, executing and attending events as needed, and follow-up after events.
- Subject to availability, attend large university events such as Homecoming, Reunion & Family Weekend, Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony & Dinner, Pioneer Golf Classic, and Commencement.
- Process event registrations in our database as needed.
- Support the alumni engagement team with processing event attendees post-events.
- Assist Web Content Specialist with regularly monitoring website content to ensure updated photos, videos and information.
- Perform website updates and the maintenance of information on carrollu.edu as requested.
- Assist the Social Media Specialist with any asset needs for various Carroll social media platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. as requested.
- Perform other office duties as needed such as answering the alumni office line, mailings, printing, greeting visitors, etc.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:Education and/or Experience:- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Previous experience in event planning and communications is preferred.
- Previous experience working in higher education is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required; experience with databases is a plus.
- Willingness to learn, or existing familiarity with, Adobe Photoshop.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving digital tools and technologies.
- Maintain full time status in an eligible Carroll University graduate program is required (tuition is fully waived for all graduate programs except for Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant).
Human Relations Skills:- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Customer service experience is strongly preferred.
- Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission.
Term of Employment:- This position is limited to a two-year employment term.
