Position Description:The University of Louisville is seeking to hire a Unit Specialist II to work with philanthropy and the Health Science Campus (HSC) philanthropy team. This position provides assistance with short-term projects, special assignments, and administrative support as assigned by the HSC Assistant Vice President of Philanthropy and the Health Science Campus (HSC) philanthropy team. This position will partner, when necessary, with Alumni Relations, Special Events, and Annual Giving teams to ensure a cohesive approach to cultivating philanthropic support for the university's growth and success. All job functions must be performed with a high degree of professionalism, including responsibility, initiative, creativity, dependability, human relations, cooperation, courtesy, and in compliance with Affirmative Action. Duties & Responsibilities Alumni & Donor Relationship Projects:- Maintain and organize records for the stewardship of scholarship awards, including coordination with academic financial aid offices to secure the names of the student awardees and request personalized thank-you notes from the student awardees.
- Coordinate the creation and distribution of donor recognition materials and gifts.
- Support the planning and execution of events and projects with Alumni Relations, Special Event, and Annual Giving teams for donor recognition and engagement, such as the 1837 and 1887 giving societies' annual receptions and CME, thank view videos, and HSC dean receptions.
- Assist in preparing philanthropy officers for visits related to out-of-town or regional travel.
- Secure standard database reports as needed for gift accounts, identification of regional alumni or donors, school philanthropic giving to date, etc.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities for alumni and donor involvement in university programs, events, and volunteer opportunities at the University with the dual purposes of engagement and fundraising.
Administrative Support:- Administrative support for development fundraising professionals on the HSC campus, including scheduling donor and prospect visits, meetings, and events for development officers.
- Complete all expense and travel-related requests for development officers.
- Forward donor data and related information to the Biographical Processing team to maintain the integrity of the University's alumni and donor database system.
- Maintain confidentiality of donor correspondence and records.
- Manage and order office supplies and submit maintenance requests when needed.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred experience in non-profit fundraising or higher education. CompetenciesSelf-driven and goal-oriented, the individual will be adept in handling multiple priorities, and act with a high degree of integrity, professionalism, creativity, and cooperation, with internal and external constituents, and in compliance with Affirmative Action guidelines.
