Job DescriptionPittsburg State University is accepting applications for a Assistant Director in the Development Office. The primary function of the Assistant Director of Development is to assist with the organization, planning, and implementation of Pittsburg State University's fundraising efforts, including but not exclusive to annual giving, donor experience, and stewardship. The Assistant Director of Development supports the development of comprehensive strategies for all aspects of the University's fundraising program.
Duties and Responsibilities30% - Assist with donor experience including the management of scholarship development and maintenance, special events, and stewardship efforts. The Assistant Director is responsible for managing and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of donor acknowledgement communications, including thank-you letters and cards from scholarship recipients. The Assistant Director also maintains up-to-date scholarship contact information within the scholarship system to ensure alignment with the alumni and donor database.
20% - Assist in the advisement of the Advancement Ambassador student leadership organization including the scheduling of monthly meetings, recruiting and selection process, special events, and other efforts. The Assistant Director plays a key role in student stewardship by supporting the student giving society and engaging with current students and recent graduates to foster a culture of philanthropy.
20% Assist in the management of social media outlets, online annual giving efforts, and texting platform. This role assists the Senior Director of Donor Relations in overseeing the maintenance and integrity of the scholarship system, including entering new scholarships, resolving scholarship contact discrepancies, and coordinating with campus departments to ensure accurate scholarship information.
10% - Assist in the execution of the Annual Fund, with specific emphasis on moving donors from annual gifts to major gifts. Additionally, the Assistant Director communicates directly with donors to ensure the accuracy of donor-related information and to cultivate meaningful relationships between the Pittsburg State University Foundation and its donors.
10% - Assist with the Pitt Power online giving platform.
10% - Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required Education and Experience - Time of Hire - Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in meeting critical deadlines and goals
- Word processing, database, spreadsheet, and general computer experience
Preferred Education and Experience - Previous experience in fundraising
- Previous experience managing social media or interactive platforms
