Job Description:
Job Title: Advancement Communications Specialist

Status: Non-Exempt, Full Time 12 Month
Reports To: Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving
Wage Grade: 730
Overview: The Advancement Communications Specialist will collaborate with the Director and Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving to develop and implement a wide range of communication strategies for the Office of Advancement. Responsibilities include creating and managing event communications, fundraising campaigns, social media content, and text outreach initiatives. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in industry communication trends, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, enjoy project management and possess analytical skills necessary to assess and optimize communication performance.
Requirements:
Primary Duties:
- Create content, plan and manage all alumni social media channels.
- Volunteer management and support: oversight of Alumni Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) Council; support President's Advisory Committee management
- Email communication planning, writing and deployment for alumni engagement across Advancement programs
- Support online fundraising efforts
- Staff alumni events
- Some evening and weekend work required for volunteer management and events (approximately 4 hours per month plus office-wide events such as homecoming and graduation)
- Other duties as assigned
