Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Alumni & Family Engagement and Annual Giving, create meaningful touchpoints and connections for Salve alumni and families, building their annual fund support and volunteerism. Deploy resources and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver engaging programming and financial support for the university.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster a collaborative and empowering work environment rooted in Salve Regina University's Mercy mission: demonstrate empathic leadership through the positive engagement of Advancement team members and campus partners.
- Collaborate with the Alumni & Family Engagement and Annual Giving team on short- and long-term planning and strategy; set measurable fundraising and engagement goals.
- Manage a portfolio of alumni and parent prospects to visit and solicit support of the university.
- Create and oversee a suite of meaningful, mission-aligned alumni events based on affinity (including clubs and athletics), majors, or geographic location (on-campus, off-campus, or virtual). Work with volunteers to ensure attendance at and support for these events.
- Collaborate with Advancement team to maintain successful Reunion programming and giving.
- Provide content for social media posts.
- Provide administrative support for the Alumni & Family Engagement and Annual Giving function.
- Bring best practices and entrepreneurial approach to all aspects of the alumni engagement strategy.
- Develop strong relationships with other University departments, including Admissions, Athletics, Student Affairs and Career Development.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties as required by the Associate Director of Alumni & Family Engagement and Annual Giving, Executive Director of Alumni & Family Engagement and Annual Giving and the VP for Advancement.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Valid driver's license.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The incumbent is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree is required
- 1-2 years event or volunteer management experience
- Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills required.
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter, flexible, dedicated, conscientious and people-oriented with the ability to work unsupervised.
- Must have proficiency on social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and others.
- Must be willing to travel alone or with colleagues, and work evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Strong computer skills required including knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Salve Regina University graduate
- 2+ years of event or volunteer management experience
