Campbell University Divinity School is now accepting applications for a Philanthropy Officer to serve within the DivinitySchool's Center for Calling and Ministry. Position Summary:
Under the direction and guidance of the Center's Executive Director, the Philanthropy Officer isan integral part of the Divinity School’s Center for Calling and Ministry. In fulfilling this role and its related responsibilities, thePhilanthropy Officer assists the Divinity School in achieving the fundraising goals and objectives of the Lilly Endowment Cultures ofCalling grant initiative.
The Philanthropy Officer will serve as a frontline fundraiser, working closely with Divinity SchoolLeadership and University Advancement Leadership. The Officer possesses a track record of fundraising accomplishments, constituentrelations, and a demonstrated capacity to work within a team environment.
The Philanthropy Officer will be deeply committed to theCultures of Calling initiative and will be able to exercise discretion, initiative, and independent judgment in promoting its success. Thisposition is tied to grant funding and is not guaranteed to continue past the ending of the grant.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan to establish a sustainable endowment that ensureslong-term support for the Center for Calling and Ministry.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and secure charitable gifts of at least$25,000 for the Center for Calling and Ministry on a regular basis.
- Manage fundraising campaign activities.
- Prepare donorcommunications and reports.
- Prepare communications for various constituencies related to the Center’s endowment.
- Communicate with the Executive Director of the Center for Calling & Ministry and the Vice President of Institutional Advancement on aconsistent basis.
- Collaborate with the University Advancement Office and attend team meetings.
- Assist in fundraisingefforts across the spectrum of the Divinity School.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Upholdand abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but notlimited to; HIPAA, FERPA and other state and federal mandates.

- This position is eligible for partial remote work. The PhilanthropyOfficer and the Executive Director will negotiate a Remote Work Addendum that provides specific details of any remote work arrangement.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3-5 years of higher education, nonprofit,ministry or related experience in the areas of fundraising, donor stewardship, and prospect cultivation
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:
- Self-motivated and self-starting; goal-oriented
- Ability to communicate effectively witha variety of audiences through both oral and written channels
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emergingtechnology
- Familiarity with Ellucian CRM Advance and web-based applications preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word,Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and common methods of digital communication such as web conferencing, web/text chat
- Demonstrate tact, apositive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with donors, alumni, trustees, faculty, staff, students, and the public
- Workindependently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
- Exercise good judgment in complexand/or new situations.
- Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment
- Ability to workoccasional evening or weekend hours; including overnight stays
